Melina Mercouri, born in 1920, in Athens, Greece, and died in 1994 in New York, United States. Actress, singer and political activist, parliamentarian for the Panhellenic Socialist Movement and Greek Minister of Culture, she participated in several films. She won the prize for best actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 1960 for her role in the film "Nunca en Domingo".
