YOSHI Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Athens

[Edit] The quality of fish and its freshness has dropped a lot. It’s been the second time that my sushi smelled very fishy indicating it wasn’t fresh and you could get food poisoning and of course I had to though it to the trash. When I informed the restaurant the first time they denied it and claimed all was fresh which was very disappointing. After 2 months I thought to give them another try cause they had good quality in the past and tasty sushi. But I was once again disappointed as the same thing happened, sushi came smelling very fishy and wasn’t fresh, which is quite dangerous and had to through it away…

One of the worst meals I’ve had in Athens. It was especially disappointing because the location is nice and there is work on the design of the shop, with the indication “Japanese cuisine”. We ordered some nigiri and a tonkatsu. Smallest nigiri ever with thinnest tuna slice on it - not very good cut of fish either. And the tonkatsu was just soaked in oil, the breading was bad, and it was completely covered in industrial mayonnaise. The side salad was also covered in mayonnaise which made it barely edible. So much salt it burns your tongue. And the whole meal was served in takeaway cartons for a sit-down lunch (including plastic cup for water!) which shouldn’t even be legal in the EU I suppose. Also completely overpriced for a bad fast-food meal. On top of all, you discard your tray in the trash yourself and there is no recycle bag while everything is served in plastic...

Came by across this new sushi bar that has recently opened! I wasn’t too hungry tbh. Sadly there were some ingredients that weren’t available as we were going for sth light such as salmon/tuna carpaccio, New Style salmon., etc but that’s okay. A friend of mine recommended these few rolls which were Maguro roll, Creamy ebi and Dragon roll and an appetiser which were the Rock shrimps tempura.
