Taverna Vakhos — Restaurant in Delphi Municipality

I recently had lunch with my family after visiting the archaeological site of Delphi and was completely blown away by the experience. From the moment I stepped in, the stunning views left me in awe. The food was absolutely delicious. However, what truly sets them apart is their incredible customer service. After an amazing lunch, I unfortunately forgot my handbag at the restaurant, which contained my wallet and other valuable items. Naturally, I was quite anxious when I realized it. But to my immense relief, the staff went above and beyond to assist me. They not only found my handbag but took the initiative to send it back to me in Athens at no charge—and they did so with remarkable speed!

In a world where excellent customer service can sometimes feel like a rare commodity, the kindness and professionalism shown by the team was truly heartwarming. They turned what could have been a very stressful situation for a foreigner into a reminder of the good in people that, I must say, I keep finding everywhere I’ve visited in Greece!

I cannot recommend this tavern enough—whether you're visiting for the breathtaking views, the outstanding food, or the top-notch service. This is a place where you're treated like family, and where the staff genuinely cares about your experience, both during and after your meal. TLTR: We had a great tasting lunch for 51EUR for 4 people, the service was fast and we were even given a free dessert at the end, 5 stars deserved.

I am not really exagerating with the 5 stars, we(4 ppl) went there for lunch and had a great experience, when we entered we were greeted by a waiter that showed us some of the available spots, after we sat down, the waiter brought us the menu and a free cold jug of water, after a bit we were given a whole bread cut into slices and a small plate of olives(the first batch is free, next ones were 1EUR). Almost the whole time there was a waiter on stand-by in the terrace for faster and more convenient ordering. After we ordered, we waited maybe like 5 minutes before our appetizers were brought(great Peta cheese stuffed peppers and tzatziki which went great with the bread), when we finished it they brought our food, it was great and everyone liked it, when we emptied the first water jug we were given another one and after we finished eating we paid and were even given a free dessert(baklava - crushed nuts with a syrup rolled...

Probably our favorite traditional Greek meal during our trip. And that is saying a lot because we went to some magnificent restaurants. What a magnificent view! After touring the Delphi Museum and archaeological site, this was a perfect way to rest a bit before driving back to Athens. Service was perfect. Attentive and helpful with food and drink suggestions without being pushy and not at all pretentious. The food was truly incredible as you can see from the photos. They only use fresh seasonal ingredients. So in the fall and winter months, order the stuffed cabbage not the dolmas because vine leaves are out of season. Their olive tapenade and "Grandma's recipe" artichoke hearts and stuffed cabbage leaves were the best I've ever had. We also enjoyed slow cooked goat with wild greens. To finish off the meal, they gave us complementary baklava. Of course we drank ouzo while looking out over the village of Delphi, the olive tree's in the valley and the Gulf of Corinth.
