Disappointing Experience - Not Recommended (Aug 2024)
Visited this restaurant expecting a premium dining experience, but left deeply disappointed. Here's why:
Overpriced and Subpar Food:
Greek Salad: Ordered a Greek salad, was assured we'll get "something similar" (because they don't have actual greek salad), received a mix of small tomatoes, cucumbers, and bread crumbs. Completely unacceptable. Burrata (18 EUR): Expected a top-notch dish but got a small scoop of burrata with sliced tomatoes and an excessive amount of vinegar. Not comparable to quality dishes like those at Kritikos in Ouranopolis. Fried Zucchini: Cooked in substandard oil, with a coating that didn’t stick to the zucchini. Fried Octopus and French Fries: The only decent items. Bottled Water (3.5 EUR): Outrageously priced for something that’s often complimentary elsewhere.
Service and Atmosphere:
Waitstaff were trying but lacked genuine hospitality. The person taking orders appeared judgmental and made us feel like we were being scammed. Overall vibe was unwelcoming and transactional. Price vs. Value:
Spent 80 EUR on a brunch for three and didn’t finish most of the food due to poor quality. Other restaurants in the area offer far superior experiences for similar prices (e.g., Bakalis in Chanioti).
Conclusion:
Magnificent view, but the food and service do not justify the high prices. Third time trying different restaurants on this front line in Afytos, always dissatisfied. Avoid if you want a quality meal; opt for better-reviewed places instead. This place feels like a tourist trap rather than a genuine dining experience. Save your money and...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough to warrant one. I ordered the grilled octopus expecting a full, beautifully presented dish—what I received was a single octopus leg. Just one. No explanation, no garnish to make up for it, and certainly not what was described on the menu. For the price they’re charging, this felt like a joke.
Then came the linguine, which was supposed to complement the seafood. Instead, it arrived undercooked, chewy, and bland. No balance of flavors, no finesse—just a pile of pasta that tasted like it was pulled from boiling water too soon and tossed onto the plate without care.
The most frustrating part? The prices. Everything is marked up as if you’re dining at a high-end, gourmet establishment, but the quality doesn’t even come close. When you’re paying premium prices, you expect premium ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and at the very least, accurate portions. None of that was delivered.
Service was fine, but even the best staff can’t make up for food that feels lazy and overpriced. I left hungry, annoyed, and wondering how this place gets away with charging so much for so little. Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless they seriously rethink their menu...
Read morePlease listen to the negative reviews, we were really upset that we chose this restaurant for our last night. What a waste. Biggest tourist trap ever. They added water and dry, hard bread to the bill, which we never ordered. We immediately told them to remove it. Be aware: The prices are extremely high for low-quality food and very small portions. The waiters were extremely rude and rushed us to order. They didn’t answer any questions about the menu and clearly didn’t care about the guests, it’s all about getting your money and pushing you out quickly. The food was terrible. We waited 20 minutes just to pay, and once the restaurant was empty, they ignored us completely, we had to walk inside ourselves to ask for the bill. We spent €70 for two people and still left hungry. We regret coming here so much, it was a total waste of money and time. Don’t trust the guys outside trying to pull you in. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This place is just a tourist scam. And to top it all off, they ask for your phone at the end so they can leave a fake 5-star Google review for themselves....
