My 340g grilled calamari was fresh and delicious, and the octopus was also fresh. The Greek salad had the classic flavor and was very nice.
BUT,
I couldn’t enjoy any of these delights because the waiter seated me at a table that ended up being in direct sunlight. If that spot gets sun, why place a table there? Or at the very least, there should have been an umbrella. Why direct a customer to that table? Eating in 30-degree heat is not pleasant!
I asked the waiter if there was a table in the shade, and he said that one was reserved for 18:30. At that moment, it was 17:30.
But I don’t blame the waiter. If he seems unhappy working here, it’s because of the management. Even in a small business like this, they’ve failed to create a positive working environment. That’s just sad.
The real question is: do you want to offer solutions or not? In the end, I paid 50 euros for fresh seafood that I couldn’t even enjoy. I was drenched in sweat, paid my bill quickly, and left.
The only person who smiled was the girl at the cashier :)
I’m someone who eats for pleasure, not just to get full. I’m not someone who enjoys leaving negative reviews, but I genuinely left your restaurant feeling disappointed.
In the spirit of being constructive, I’ll consider visiting again in the future. I just hope you haven’t created this Google account solely for...
Read moreThis was our second visit to Ta Glarakia. Our first experience was great, with no complaints which is why we returned.
On our second visit, we ordered the fried fresh squid which was very overcooked and chewy. When I raised this with the waiter he seemed ambivalent and refused to even acknowledge that anything was wrong with it. Claiming that this was how it should be and I should just eat it. He and his team also refused to take the plate away from the table, convinced I was making it up. Another waiter then came over and had the same response.
When it came to settling the bill, I queried the squid given it was inedible and it hadn't been touched. Their response was a rude belittling shrug and a tap of the card machine. No apology was deemed necessary for their shoddy food. The only thing worse than the squid was their service.
Due to the rude and unhelpful staff, we will not be returning or recommending to our friends visiting Afytos.
We would, however, recommend To Kyma which is 10 meters down the road and has fabulous food and a very...
Read morethe staff is unprofessional, doesn't work very well and if you complain about it, they admit it but also get angry and want you out of there. Especially the blue eyed guy behind the bar is very ungrateful to his customers and it seems like it wasn't the first time this procedure took place. They even wanted to charge us for ordered food that we didnd get (the whole point for the complaint was just about that) although they admitted their fault that the server brought the dish to another table. At least say ok we are sorry, you don't have to pay it or give a free drink or something but it's not okay to act like nothing happened and even get angry at your customers for claiming their rights. I have a restaurant myself and grew up in this business, but I have never treated any customers like that. Trust me, just go somewhere else. There are plenty other restaurants and bars here that provide good food and real service like it should be One star just because...
