Achinos Mediterranean Tavern — Restaurant in Kavala Municipality

We've been there to have a family dinner, 7 persons. The place is looking nice, but the atmosphere created by the employees was very bad: We ordered two people, for the whole table, not to have confussions, and immediately after ordering, we woke up with two fiscal receipts on the table, for two separate orders. Asking why we have two, and why immediately after ordering, when we still haven't eaten or drinking nothing and we were told "this is the law in Greece, we need to have the receipts on the table". Asking to speak with the manager, they have called a colleague from the other side of the sidewalk that "played" the managers role. After explaining to him that we find it rude to have the receipt on the table before eating, and that if we have it, than we can leace without paying, he kept them, and at the end of the dinner brought a completely new receipt, on a different type of paper, with all the order there. On this way, I am asking the local authorities to check this restaurant, as they are playing with two registers, and for sure this is a scheme to avoid paying taxes, besides the fact that are being rude. For the food, nothing to comment, average food, exactly for a one time stop.

Reply to owner's comment: If this is legal, than it should be no problem to ask my friends from Xanthi to come with the authorities to check it. I was getting a little concerned that this practice was only for our table, and not for the ones were greeks...

My experience at this place it was pretty awful...First of all, when the waiter took our order, he told me they don't have what I wanted to order (mouscaka), then he told me other things I could get. After I chose, he left, the drinks came pretty fast, but the food...we waited almost an hour. I can understand that it was busy but the food of my friends came pretty cold. I waited for much more than an hour to get my food, I was already getting angry, but respectfully I talked to the waiter to tell him my problem and he said he had made a mistake, something about the writing on the phone, he then told me he could make the order but we'll have to wait for another 40-50 minutes, for some stuffed peppers which I'm pretty sure they were already made and they just needed to be warmed... Also, immediately after the waiter brought the silverware and plates they also brought water and bread and at the end, they were on the bill, which is unusual because its supposed to be on the house or at least not to give us the bread and...

The comment below is from the last summer. This year, we went to the Kavala for just one night (on the way back) only to have the beautiful experience again but ... Unfortunately, it was a total disappointment. Athina wasn't there anymore and the chief waiter or the host, really wasn't happy that we sat on the table. The expression on his face was like "what the hell are you doing here". We ordered only starters and mezes but we didn't like them so without ordering main courses we paid and left. It looks like a beautiful restaurant is in the hands of incapable staff. We felt really sorry. My last year's comment: The best place in Kavala! The most delicious food, the fastest and super polite service and of course, reasonable prices!!! Don't miss this experience! Everybody is very friendly, cheerful and showing real smiles! Before paying the bill, you get some ice cream on the house! Plus, you may have the chance to give your order to the real...
