Sometimes the best places are not on the seafront with the postcard view, but two streets behind — where someone’s dream finally came true. The old Black Rose has been reborn as a bar with huge heart and a huge range: open all day (8–20), serving proper coffee in the morning, something stronger by noon, and a truly impressive variety of drinks throughout.

Food is simple and honest, exactly what you want to go with a glass of wine, a beer, or a cocktail. But what really makes it stand out is the fact that it’s built on a childhood dream. That means every detail is about making sure customers are happy — not just running a bar, but sharing pride, warmth, and care with everyone who walks in.

And yes, the big church opposite makes the perfect backdrop for your inevitable Insta post. Tell them the Hungarian guy sent you — and look for the bottle of Unicum on the shelf, the one I brought a few years ago.

This is a great little bar with a good atmosphere. The decor is both quirky and tasteful. The background music is fantastic, a good mix of rock, blues and soul. The barman/owner is also very helpful and friendly and will take music requests. This place became my holiday local, I enjoyed it so much here.
