We’ve dined at Antoni’s Place before, and our previous experience was excellent, which is why we returned. The food and service had been great, and we were looking forward to another good meal. However, this time our experience was very disappointing.
We ordered grilled sea bass and dorada, and both fish were undercooked near the spine. This wasn’t a matter of taste—it was an objective fact that the fish was not properly cooked, which also poses potential health risks. We informed the waiter, and while the fish was taken to the kitchen for inspection, no apology or reaction was given. We had expected at least a simple apology or a small gesture from the restaurant, and we wouldn’t have even considered asking for a discount if they had acknowledged the issue.
Instead, when we politely asked about a discount due to the undercooked fish, the manager freaked out, mumbled something unintelligible, and then literally threw the bill into the trash can. This was an unprofessional and strange reaction to a simple request. After lingering for a while, trying to figure out what was happening, we asked other staff if we could still pay for the appetizers and drinks that we had enjoyed, but another manager told us to leave without paying for anything. The lack of communication and the uncomfortable atmosphere left us feeling awkward and confused.
To make matters worse, the restaurant’s response to this review has only continued their passive-aggressive attitude. They implied that we were asking for a discount over a single bite we didn’t like, when in fact it was two whole fish—the main part of our meal—that were undercooked. This was not about disliking the taste but about the quality of the food, something that should be addressed with good customer service.
It’s clear that this restaurant prioritizes deflecting responsibility over ensuring their customers are happy. Given our prior positive experience, we are disappointed that the handling of this situation left us feeling blamed rather than valued.
Food: 3 stars While the appetizers and drinks were great, the undercooked fish—the main part of the meal—brought the rating down.
Service: 1 star The service this time was disappointing, especially with the lack of apology or acknowledgment when the issue was raised. The manager’s erratic behavior and their response to our review further demonstrated their unwillingness to handle complaints...

Went there for lunch with my wife Food was ok, service was average, waiting time a bit long, but acceptable. Paid 40 euro for our meal. After we paid, we went to their beds on the beach as we had to wait for 20 minutes before leaving the village. One boy from their staff came to us to ask for payment for the beds. Explaind we just had lunch in their restaurant and we will be there for only 20 minutes. He said he has to charge us for a full day. I went to the restaurant to discuss with the owner that ouf of courtesy it should be ok to wait there in the shade for 20 minutes. Started the discussion friendly with another boy in the staff who became quickly unfriendly, and soon the owner came to join the discussion and got angry and became aggressive: pulled the phone out of my hand, started yelling loud in front of the custoomers and mentioned calling the police.
The problem is not bad service or courtesy here. It is the way the onwer became angry. Within seconds he was all shaking of anger, with one of the boys stoping him from what seemed that he was going to attack me as I was leaving. This is about exposing yourself and your family or friends to this kind of possible anger in your vacation. My personal opinion is that he has mental and/or emotional issues and I would stay away from their place.
One more thing: The reason I called both staff members "boys" is that they are somewhere between 17 and 19-20 years old. They simply seem to follow what the owner is doing, but this is a very bad exapample for them.
Fact: This is the ONLY bad review I have for the entire 10 days we...
Read moreThe restaurant is right on the beach. offers great shade and the waiters are very friendly. Food was really delicious and portions very very generous. We ordered two salads, graviera saganaki (pan-seared Greek cheese gruyere) and a dish that was minced meat cooked in a variety of different cheeses. As you see in the pictures, portions were beyond generous and really really taste. Very high value for money.
Other than this, our waiter, Petros was very friendly, he explained to us in great detail the different specialties and at the end (as is the tradition) we were offered a really nice dessert (on the house). This place also offers good shade, which was especially needed the really hot day we visited. They also rent umbrellas and sun beds down at the beach, which came of good use after our food comma! :-) Definitely a place to check out when you visit the beautiful...
