Moon Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Amorgos

As we walked past this bar the first night we arrived on Amorgos, something just seemed to call me in. Maybe it was the huge misshapen trunk of an ancient Tamarisk outside the door?

We went for dinner close by on the water's edge, but afterwards as we walked back to our apartment past Moon Bar, I just knew that we had to go inside. Wow, what can I say? Great music not too loud either, lovely warm atmosphere, soft yellow light displaying a very wide range of almost every spirit you could imagine and a really hospitable and friendly lady behind the bar who we later learnt was Katerina who has been here for 27 years!

We just loved the atmosphere and kept asking Katerina the names of songs on her playlist they were SO good. Like Daniel Castor's "I'll play the blues for you", Gary BB Coleman, some Jimi Hendrix, the Doors and many old favourites. We certainly stayed longer than we planned because we just couldn't leave. We're in our early 60's so perhaps this spot awakened our youth and made us live again.

Nice and relaxing place for a beer or coffee at a great spot near the seafront, with great view of the sunset. We had a beer, late afternoon, and there was good relaxing music. The young waiter was very kind and helpful. The reason I'm scoring it rather low is that the lady that seems to own the place was terribly rude to the young waiter working there, for no apparent reason. And, in any case, even if there was a reason, she should not speak like that to anyone. This is terribly unprofessional and disrespectful to both her staff and the customers. While the atmosphere the vibe the music and the cocktails were amazing in this place. The fact that they re trying to fool customers ruins everything. They couldnt accept my card because "the internet was slow". I could accept that this bar only accepts cash but you should let me know before I order. I had to walk to the other end of the port for 20 mins to bring you your cash and when I asked for a receipt you looked at me as if I had stolen something. So it is a one star for me and its...
