Pearl Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

I recently visited Agios gordios in Corfu.A beautiful part of corfu. There are many bars and restaurants however The pearl taverna is the best. . It's is a beautiful family run taverna The views are spectacular. You can lay on a sun lounger as long as you buy a drink or some food. Unlike some of the other bars whom require that you spend a minimum of £20/30 euro. The food is amazing, authentic traditional greek food reasonably priced. The portions are good and a good variety. Most importantly the staff are amazing especially Elga She made us feel so special, she is naturally welcoming and kind. We ended up here unexpectedly because we were planning on going somewhere else, but the level of food and hospitality blew us away. Egla is the most charming hostess and made sure all our needs were met, even protecting us from the wasps! The terrace is protected by a roof and has ventilators, which is very nice since even at 8pm it can be very hot outside. Food was nothing short of spectacular, on a home-made authentic level. Pita was fresh out the oven, tzatziki and taramasala tasted better than any other we tried and the shrimps(which were already separated, thankfully) were delicious. To top it all off we got a free chocolate dessert which was very nice.

The seafood was fresh. We loved the octopus , grilled Shrimps and the grilled fish. The waitress was very pleasant and treated us with a fruit platter. Thanks!

If you are staying in Korfu town and do not have a car, I would definitely recommend one day to enjoy the beach and have lunch at Peal Taverna.

A set of 2 beach chairs with umbrella costs EUR 10 which included 2 drinks (soft drinks, juices, wine, beer or coffee). We had a pleasant day arriving with the bus B10 at around 9:00 am, had lunch at noon and then took the bus back to Corfu town at 2:15 PM. The ticket for each bus ride is EUR 2.4.
