La Piazza - Barbati — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

I got food poisoning form the mussels dish with symptoms such as vomiting, stomach pain and fever.. I ate mussels at several other restaurants, but this was different at first sight. When I received the dish, each mussel had its half shell already removed so the soft parts were fully exposed. Some of their soft parts were whiteish but that is not necessary a problem, the problem was that the consistency was like if they were overcooked (not chewy), however it was not hot at all! That should have been a mayor red flag! I received it quite fast so probably it was prepared and then reheated, or was not fresh & not cooked properly which is a huge error, as these can be very poisonous when not...

Thourghly enjoyed our meal here. I had the king Prawns with potatoes, and my partner had fillet steak. Both were fabulous. When we went in it was very quiet, within half an hour it was packed. Our meal arrived pretty quickly and the staff were very attentive. After we finished we sat for 3/4 hour before our waitress could clear us, but we’d decided to leave and asked for the bill. She brought the sweetest, juicyist grapes over from the fridge to end of meal.

Einfach tolles Restaurant!

Bin momentan mit einem Kumpel in Corfu (Barbarti) und sind an einem Abend auf La Piazza gestoßen. (Waren jetzt schon 2 Mal da) Bewertungen waren gut, also mal reingeschaut. Unfassbar freundliches Personal. Englische Kommunikation war absolut kein Problem und der Ausblick aufs Meer ist ebenfalls sehr schön. Sonst ist das Restaurant von Innen auch sehr nett Designed und gibt eine angenehme Atmosphäre her. Essenstechnisch gibt es eine sehr breite Auswahl von Fisch, Fleisch, Aufläufen, Pizza und vielen Beilagen etc. Preislich auch einfach Bombe!! Wir sind bis jetzt immer mit gut 15€ davon gekommen (inkl. Getränk) Wer z.B. Lammkoteletts bestellt darf dann schon mit 20€-25€ rechnen, was aber immer noch absolut OK ist.

Essen hat sehr lecker und frisch geschmeckt. Gegessen haben wir Pizza sowie frittierten Sepia. Pizza gab's wirklich nichts zu meckern. Schnell (~15min.), heiß, sehr sehr schön bestückt mit allem drum und dran und geschmeckt hat sie ebenfalls. Groß genug war sie auch. (Mit Käse sparen sie nicht ;) )

Der frittierte Sepia war ebenfalls OK. Leider ein bisschen "langweilig" serviert. (Sepia mit Pommes..) Aber auch hier muss man sagen, dass es trotzdem sehr lecker geschmeckt hat.

Und von den anderen Gerichten, die man hier und da sehen konnte kann man einfach nicht meckern!

Ich würde es jedem empfehlen mal vorbeizuschauen. Besonders eher Abends. Da ist es dann sehr angenehm.

Ich kann die negativen Rezensionen ganz und gar nicht nachvollziehen. Vielleicht war das eine 1-Mal-Sache. Bei unseren zwei Besuchen jedoch keine Spur von den Anmerkungen.

Wir sind noch eine knappe Woche vor Ort und werden bestimmt noch mindestens einmal hier essen gehen.
