Taverna Akrogiali — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

I can't recommend this place enough. After trying this restaurant and 2 others in Barbati, this was easily the best. The staff was super friendly and very quick with ordering and table service.

You sit directly on the cliff edge overlooking the sea. The street is also close, but not bad enough to be too loud.

But this restaurant shines in the food. I have had only sea food the 3 nights I went there and every dish was amazing. My partner had some traditional foods and her dishes also tasted great. And all the food came fresh from the kitchen in less than 10 minutes.

Price was also great when comparing to the other local restaurants. Especially for the everything written above.

If you walk by and see opens tables, you cannot go wrong here. I have 2 nights left in Barbati and if my partner let's me, I will eat dinner here again...

We were surprised by this Tavern. Other venues are styled better however that does not tell the storey here. We went twice and enjoyed it both times. My wife loves grill octopus and was delighted with the portion size and quality. I opted for the mussels in garlic. Stellar Greek simplicity using fresh plump mussels. Chef is son of the owner and was taught by his mother how to cook Greek. Papa is a true Greek welcoming gentleman. Views are equal to any along this area, especially at dusk and sunset. The charm here is that it is family owned, run and operated. Food is Greek authentic which to me is simple, pure and delicious. Our review is based on having the same dishes twice. I went there with my girfriend to eat. As we are Vegan, the restaurant does not offer many options. We had to go with starters. We ordered just a portion of garlic mushrooms and 1 small glass of Ice tea. 5,50 euros for the mushrooms and Ice tea, 2 euros. We asked for the bill and he had charged 9,50. 2 euros extra for What???? I read some others angry reviews where costumers complained that they were not allowed to sit there and only drink because that place is a taverna. FINE! If that is his rules, FINE!
