Cariatides. Ristorante, cafe bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

The seafood spaghetti looks great but tastes awful. The seafood is not fresh at all: cuttlefish and mini octopus stink, Surimi tastes only like starch, shrimps and mussels must have been in freezer for very long time. The big problem is: they are ripping off tourists whenever they get a chance!!! I was on the bus from port to Nissaki. Even if I showed the ticket seller in bus the location of my apartment on Google map, he insisted I should get off at station Barmpati, which was directly in front of this restaurant. I walked into this restaurant for nice view. After eating, I showed waitress the address of my apartment and asked how much it may cost to take a taxi for 2,9km. The waitress said she has no idea but would call Taxi for me. Suddenly I was told it costs 25€ for 2,9km and had to decide instantly because the driver is on the phone. I was unsure but the waitress said that it's the normal price for a Taxi in Korfu. However, there came a mini van without Taxi shield. It all happened too quickly. It’s with heavy heart I write this critical review, this evening my partner and I had a delicious meal in this restaurant, staff were very accommodating allowing us to wait for us to get a table by balcony to get a proper sea view, the experience was however spoiled when I asked the very pleasant cockney/Greek waiter to order a taxi as my partner wasn’t feeling too well in the heat, (his/restaurant choice )arrived in “Skoda Octavia estate” and for the 2/3 minutes drive charged a Eye watering €15. When I challenged the price he immediately dropped to €12 but wouldn’t give me a receipt and only take payment in cash. Taxi driver was very familiar with restaurant owner and all staff so was not a new driver new to job or location. Night spoiled by greed and exploitation of the only the only commodity that brings economic prosperity to the island. I recently visited Cariatides Ristorante, Cafe Bar in Barbati, Corfu, and it was a complete disappointment. The service was abysmal, with our party waiting over an hour for our food to arrive. When it finally did, the dishes were not only subpar in quality but also outrageously overpriced for what we received.

The experience was further marred by the owner's unprofessional attitude. When we politely offered constructive feedback, he responded with rudeness and hostility, refusing to acknowledge any of the issues we raised. This level of customer service is unacceptable and only added to the overall unpleasant experience.

Save yourself the trouble and avoid this establishment. There are plenty of other places in Corfu where you can enjoy good food, reasonable prices, and...
