Olive Garden Benitses — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

We visited the restaurant this evening and placed our order. As is common in many Greek establishments, our drinks arrived quickly. However, after waiting around 45 minutes with no sign of our food, we asked the waiter about the delay. He admitted there had been a mistake with our order but reassured us that we were now a priority. Despite this, we continued to wait while other tables around us received their meals. When we raised the issue with the management, we were met with a rude and dismissive attitude. They simply said the restaurant was busy and that delays were “normal.” To make matters worse, the wine we had ordered was sitting on the table for so long that it had warmed up by the time the food still hadn’t arrived. When we mentioned this, the staff responded with a sarcastic, “Oh, really?” — which we found very disrespectful. We were extremely uncomfortable with the way the situation was handled. The menu focuses on classic Greek cuisine with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The moussaka was rich and perfectly seasoned, and the grilled octopus was tender with a smoky finish. Their homemade tzatziki and warm pita were excellent starters, and the house wine paired nicely with the meal.

Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. The staff were happy to explain the dishes and even offered some great recommendations for exploring Corfu.
