Picante Mexican - Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

As a native resident of NYC ("born and bred," as they say!) I can HIGHLY recommend this place for any local or tourist visiting the beautiful island of Corfu wishing to step out and explore their palettes with authentic Mexican cuisine!!

Once we arrived, the environment with decor & music immediately made us connect with the Mexican ambience along with the greeting of our Greek personnels' hospitality; we felt at home despite being miles away ♥️🥰

The staff service was among the BEST we had experienced during these weeks in Corfu: sharp, welcoming, friendly- I commend the ownership with their selection to those who work here! (Ps! Keep them close and pay them to stay 😉😁)

The food is what it comes down to for our dining experience, as we all know, and it passed the test with flying colors on the Friday evening we visited!

Our drinks were ON POINT. Do not hesitate to order their cocktails instead of a beer! Loved the fact, their barista nailed complexity of each drink rather than just 'dumping sugar' to make it sweet 😜🙈👌

Chips were crispy with various side dips meeting the taste test for flavors.

I personally want the slight heat of Mexican spices but nothing overwhelming that I need to be drinking water with every bite 🤭

My shredded beef enchilada met every expectation and exceeded! I can also say, the beef was 100% tender, delicious meat without though excessive bites of fat that sometimes pop up in other eating experiences. I wholeheartedly recommend!

I will be bookmarking this spot to return for our next visit to the fantastic vacation...

Beautiful environment, great music and decorations as well, you can perfectly feel those Mexican vibes!! The prices are a little higher than in the other restaurants but it's perfectly compensated by how tasty the food is!!! The waiters/waitresses are sweet, the service was fast, our plates looked great! We enjoyed the cocktails too^^ And lastly but most importantly: we were kind of problematic guests since the card payments were already closed but they reopened it for us!! And 3 of us wanted to divide the bill, we had a miscalculation, we caused a problem for them and instead of getting mad at us THEY WERE INCREDIBLY PATIENT!! That nice lady even wished us a good time in Corfu and gave us little candies! 💗 We were problematic yet they handled our problems with so much patience and empathy. Big-big-big respect for them!!! Picante, ein lebhaftes und einladendes mexikanisches Restaurant in Benitses, begeistert nicht nur durch seine farbenfrohe und fröhliche Dekoration, sondern auch durch eine gut abgestimmte Auswahl an Gerichten, die sowohl traditionell als auch kreativ zubereitet werden. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der schöne Außenbereich, der eine freundliche Atmosphäre schafft und den perfekten Rahmen für ein gemütliches Essen mit Freunden bietet. Bei unserem Besuch waren wir zu dritt und hatten das Vergnügen, eine Vielzahl von Gerichten zu probieren.

Die Chicken Wings waren mit einer wunderbar rauchigen BBQ-Sauce glasiert. Die Flügel waren außen knusprig und innen saftig – eine perfekte Kombination aus Textur und Geschmack. Die leichte Schärfe der Sauce rundete das Gericht ab, ohne dabei zu dominieren. Dieses Gericht war ein idealer Einstieg in das, was Picante zu bieten hat: kräftige Aromen und eine exzellente Zubereitung.

Der Roasted Vegetables and Couscous Salad überraschte uns mit seiner Leichtigkeit und Frische. Die gerösteten Gemüse harmonierten hervorragend mit dem lockeren Couscous und der balsamischen Vinaigrette, die dem Gericht eine angenehm säuerliche Note verlieh. Die Mischung aus warmem, weichem Gemüse und dem leichten, körnigen Couscous machte den Salat zu einem ausgewogenen und zufriedenstellenden Gericht, das sowohl gesund als auch sättigend war.

Ein besonderes Highlight war der Mango Chicken Salad, der mit gegrillten Hähnchenstücken und frischer Mango zubereitet wurde. Die saftige Süße der Mango fügte eine erfrischende Komponente hinzu, die perfekt mit dem würzigen Hähnchen harmonierte. Der knackige Salat und die Croûtons sorgten für zusätzliche Textur, während der Parmesan dem Gericht eine dezente, aber köstliche Würze verlieh. Dieser Salat war sowohl leicht als auch aromatisch und überzeugte auf ganzer Linie.

Das Chicken Churrasco war ebenfalls eine hervorragende Wahl. Das Hähnchen war saftig und perfekt mariniert, die Limette und frischen Kräuter verliehen dem Gericht eine zitrusartige Frische, die es besonders erfrischend machte. Die Beilage aus frischem Salat und Gemüse rundete das Gericht wunderbar ab und machte es zu einer leichten, aber dennoch herzhaften Mahlzeit.
