Gyropoleion 144 — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

We were on way into to Chania for our first full day of exploring the old town before going to the gorges. While moving in slow traffic, I happen to see what looked like an attractive, charming establishment. I did a quick U and reversed park in front . Our family of 4 had really outstanding tasting gyros. The chicken gyro is good, but the kebab ones are outstanding and worth the extra wait it takes for them to make it. It was a really good authentic experience.

I have to disagree with the claim that it's the best Gyros in town. The taste lacked exactly that; taste. The workers were not the nicest (except for the young kid manning the grill). The tables outside were dirty and had ants/bugs all over. Chicken Gyro meat was dry and seasonless. I love Gyros and kebabs and eat them quite often. Just what I wanted to experience, a LOCAL GYRO PLACE, just gyros and pita souvlaki, Nothing Else. This is where the locals GO. I didn't want to go to one of those places that advertises gyro but when you get there they have this Huge Menu because they cater to Tourists.
