After a long research, this hotel became a perfect combination of a great location in walking proximity (15 minutes) to the very centre of Chania old town, immediate access to the beach, beautifully designed rooms that are cleaned spotless, and swimming pool. One of my favorite features was the fact that around 20 restaurants with great reviews were within 2-3 minutes walking distance. Amazing fresh fish and seafood with local owners that are trying hard to compete and impress.
Another great feature was that our one bedroom suite had a beautiful terrace with the table, chairs and umbrella overlooking the beach. You can enjoy the view and the sea breeze without leaving your hotel room. We were greeted with a bottle of red wine, and overall the service at the hotel was very nice.
The kitchen is very well equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, regular brewed coffee coffee maker, toaster, utensils, pots etc. I highly recommend the one bedroom suite as it has one nice shower and a separate bathtub closer to the living room.
Right next to the hotel is a bar and snack/breakfast area, as well as a diving center.
During my search for hotels, I was curious about the fitness center mentioned on the booking.com website: there were no photos so that is why I would like to add some clarity to those of you looking to have a workout. The fitness room is located in a basement area and is accessed with a key obtained at reception. The room is around 30+ square meters (~300 square feet) has a working elliptical, bike, weights, exercise mat, 2 treadmills (did not check if they worked), one electric rower (one pedal’s strap was torn so it was hard for me to fully engage in exercise) and 4-5 stations for different types of muscles. Whereas I personally had a great workout with elliptical, weights, and exercise mat, my husband did not like the stations four different types of muscles at all as, he said, most of them were broken.
Regardless of the fitness center which I simply wanted to add clarity about, I would hands down recommend this hotel to anyone, what a lovely place with so many things to do in...
Read moreGood swimming, boating, snorkeling from the scenic, seaside beach-front location. Although underwater areas of debris/trash and silt near the shore. Very well maintained, secure grounds with excellent housekeeping. WiFi was sporadically okay, mostly varying between slow and okay, much better at nearest fish restaurant. Management appeared both erratic and somewhat regimented: strictly enforcing rules at times, no enforcement at others - possibly due to staffing issues. The eight poolside lounge chairs and three stationary umbrellas were well-occupied by morning onwards. Getting a chair with umbrella became competitive. Many guests stayed instead under a pair of beach loungers and umbrella (6€ daily). Racket from high flying military aircraft broke the peaceful ambience periodically. Reservations for accommodations easily made (well in advance) through booking platform, but email request directly to hotel for extended stay resulted in email indicating it was okay followed by no extension possible upon arrival. (Lesson: make bookings/extensions only with online platform. ) It appeared many bookings were by seniors and many were prebooked through TUI. Nice snack bar, attached mini market and Alpha Bank ATM. Next door Christina Beach apartments/hotel under same family management, housekeeping, etc. Very good nearby small, quite adequate supermarket and separate bakery just a few minutes walking (west) on Selinou. Full-size supermarket (Sklavenitis) was walkable heading in the opposite direction on Selinou then bearing left onto Mitropoliti Kirillou then right...
Read moreThis place is excellent value for money. We booked two one bed apartments for our family of five including three kids age 11-14. ||Key points |- location is fantastic, right on sea front at the end of a strip of beach so feels very safe. |- sunloungers, beach bar etc all on your doorstep. |- amazing swimming pool for when you’ve had enough of the beach. |- with 5 min walk of a strip of excellent restaurants for lunch or dinner. |- 20- 30 min walk from Chania old town along the seafront ( this is invaluable as parking at the town is horrific)|- definitely worth getting a sea facing room |- rooms are very compact but they are very clean and beds are comfortable|- do note that the rooms are really only suitable for 2 + infant. We thought they could accommodate our three kids but one of them ended up on the ‘sofa bed’ which was rock hard and not really suitable for sleeping comfortably on. |- bathroom is extremely small but clean. |- there is a kitchenette. Fridge is very useful to chill water and drinks but is noisy in the night when trying to sleep ( bring earplugs)|- filter coffee maker available|- kitchenette is really pokey so don’t expect you can do any actual cooking there. Though we did make use of plates and cutlery to have breakfast (bought from local bakery) on our balcony||Overall this place was perfect for our needs. It was affordable, clean and well situated. |Close to so many restaurants. Would really...
