The Jar — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

Our family has eaten here many times over the last 2 years. Our children like their Jenga Jar menu item they serve in the weekends. Other menu items are average and portions are small. Yesterday we went and there was 2 small coffee tables and one 4 seater table in the sun. We decided to put the 2 small tables together because you couldn’t fit 4 plates and drinks on one coffee table. My husband is Greek and communicated with the staff who informed us that our only option was the sun table. We were not allowed to put the tables together (not a safety hazard) because they have to leave them open for other dinners that would come. Then we found out they ran out of the only menu item we came for. I could go into further detail and we were never rude or unkind. Pointed out they allowed 2 people to sit at an 8 seater or lots of 2 people sitting in the 4 seater tables. They didn’t make them move. Needless to say, we won’t be back. This is not a way to run...

It's a real shame that all the hard work the kitchen staff put in to the nice food is totally ruined by rude uninterested , surly staff who really don't give a damn, is it because I am British that we were treated so rudely by your young staff or do they treat everyone like this?, I realy wish I had spoken to the manager but if a place is run like this I think he clearly knows already, Your good food us not worth your very rude staff, especially the young lady server who almost snarled "enjoy" to us with her attitude, and the male sever didnt give a damn when our order was taken wrong and never seemed bothered to fix the problem in a timely maner, I would like to say that when they go to visit any counrty as a tourist that I hope they are NOT met with the same distane as we were,just dont work in the hospitality industry if...

Lovely food and waiter service! Great location BUT!!!! the whole time I was there I saw children running around so crazy and getting the turtles out of the pond and pushing down on their shells 😢 I felt so stressed! There needs to be a SIGN TO SAY TO LEAVE THE TURTLES ALONE!!!!! the children act possessed and the parents are nowhere to be seen! I went and told the children not to touch the turtles but they don’t listen!!!! Another man told them not to touch the turtles because they are killing them by pushing down on them!!!!
