The family at AtlasAdventured highly recommends dining here! If you ever visit Chania, you will quickly realize there are a lot of restaurants. We had been trying to figure out where to eat there for a while and finally asked our AirBnB host for a recommendation. He told us Woodstock was one of the best. It’s located right along the beach, so while walking there we passed restaurant after restaurant that was jam packed. Once we arrived at Woodstock we noticed there were maybe 2 tables. That didn’t look promising. But we decided to go for it anyway. And I’m so glad we did. We sat outside, right along the water. The menu is large, and they also serve some brunch options all day. I started with a glass of Ouzo, which was a clear liquid hallfull in a glass, and they gave me a bucket of ice. This was my first time trying it, so they told me I needed to add some ice, and when I did it became a milky color! It was delicious, and feeling like you’ve done a science experiment with your drink was pretty cool. The food though! We ordered the baked feta (I’ve eaten a lot of feta while in Crete, but I haven’t tried it baked yet!), a Greek Salad, and the red velvet pancakes (it was my Dad’s birthday back in the US, so we decided to get this to celebrate him.) The baked feta was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever had. It was so creamy and delicious, and the veggies cooked with it gave the cheese this beautiful roasted flavor. The greek salad was large, crisp, and filled with fresh veggies. The red velvet pancakes were the highlight of the meal. They’re so beautiful! They were big and fluffy and so rich. The entire table can share. We were so pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! We will definitely come back next time we’re...
Read moreBAD, that’s my experience. I asked for a smoothie bowl, without yogurt because I’m intolerant and they say me yes it’s possible to add some plant based milk instead to the mix. They bring me a bowl with half banana, some dry seeds and a slice of pineapple. 9,5€ for that. I said maybe a reduction in the price because they remove half of the ingredients because “is already in the yogurt mix” so they could not add another thing. When I politely explain that I don’t want it they take the bowl and some minutes after they offer me to add some almond milk instead… then I say no thank you I don’t want a milk bowl I want a smoothie bowl… when the waitress was trying to explain herself and say sorry for this, one guy very rude just say to her “stop talking you have more people to attend, leave this table” and she just leave me trying to explain why I didn’t want what they offer to me (allergy and intolerance problem). I order some juice also that tastes like NOTHING because they put so many water on it. 6€ for a water and some fruits blend… amazing. Definitely not a friendly place for people with allergies. They don’t care about the customers. They just want to make money and fool the tourist. So watch out when...
Read moreAVOID AVOID AVOID Don't let this restaurant ruin your evening and mood by wasting your money and time here. Totally undeserving of any customers.
We were served one meal after 35 minutes wait, bland and tasteless vegetable linguine. Zero salt added, a child could have cooked this better. (reordering and recooking would have taken another lifetime smh) I asked the waiter for the second meal to be told another 10 minutes. We then noticed the neighbour table get served my same order even though they came in after! They had to wait almost as long! Waited over 1hr in total for food. Waitress could only give an apology. I strongly suggest to anyone who is waiting too long just to walk out, don't settle for the disrespect and lack of service...
