4 Tessera — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

Fantastic restaurant with great service!

We had a lovely dinner here as a family of 7 on a busy evening. Although the food took a little while to arrive – which was no problem at all, since we’re on holiday and in no rush 😉 – the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They checked in regularly to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything. The service was genuinely outstanding: friendly, caring, and attentive without being overbearing.

The food was excellent. The fish was very tasty and filleted at the table, and the traditional meat dishes like chicken souvlaki and gyros were also delicious. We tried some of the daily specials – the tomato soup and stuffed peppers – and those were full of flavour as well. Portions were generous and more than enough for everyone.

The view from the restaurant is beautiful, and the atmosphere is calm and inviting. Great value for money too. Honestly, we think this might be the best restaurant in Chersonissos old town.

At the end of the meal, the staff brought out a large plate of fresh melon and some raki on the house – a very kind and thoughtful gesture that we really appreciated.

We’ll definitely come back when we return to Chersonissos. No...

If you’re reading this as a skeptic wondering why this only has 5 star reviews I will tell you;

Everything was wonderful. The ambiance was peaceful, the view was beautiful and the interior was clean and modern. You can tell the waiters put in the effort to be friendly and also to get the word out about their new restaurant. And most importantly — the food was just incredible. It bursted in flavor and everything tasted fresh. Also, you get a free dessert at the end which again is phenomenal.

I always check reviews and pictures before visiting a restaurant. I often even check pictures of the atmosphere, the menu and sometimes even social media. Needless to say I have my fair share of experiences and know what to look for and for this place I was checking all of their socials and read all of their review because there were so little. I would do it again for the flavor explosion that happened when I ate my cod stew. The location adds to the experience by how nice and quiet it is, which to me is a step up from the chaotic greasy restaurant experience in Hersonissos.

All in all I highly recommend you to go and I would go again if I were able to...

If you're walking up the hill considering other restaurants, don't pass by 4 Tessera! My family and I visited Crete, and we were so impressed with Dimitry and the team that we returned seven times during our stay.
