Taverna Harakas — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

I cannot praise this place enough!! This was the best experience of all the restaurants I've been to in Crete. We arrived and ordered our starter and 2 mains quite fast despite it being busy We got the BEST octopus in the area, beautifully made and very tender and with a nice grilled flavor. Then we got our mains: a swordfish and a souvlaki (mixed). sadly my souvlaki was red inside and I asked the waitress to attend to it. She said she was sorry but mentioned that this is sometimes the case with meat and that it is safe to eat.

I did not mind this explanation much, I left the red meat piece intact, we enjoyed our time so I wouldn't make a scene. To my delight the waitress brought a completely redone pork souvlaki from the kitchen, with sides and all as an apology, free of charge. What a stellar service that any establishment should be jealous of 🙏🏽 we felt so well taken care of. We had the absolute pleasure of dining at this traditional Greek taverna in Heraklion, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. We had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant recently and we have to say it was an outstanding experience. The food was simply spectacular - every dish was lovingly prepared and tasted incredibly good. We were particularly impressed by the variety and freshness of the ingredients.

The ambience of the restaurant is also worth mentioning. The decor is stylish and inviting, and the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between elegance and coziness. You immediately feel at ease and can enjoy the evening to the full.

The staff were extremely courteous and friendly. From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left, we were served attentively and warmly throughout. The staff were always eager to please and made the stay a real pleasure.
