Stou Stereou Home Made Food — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

What a lovely friendly small actual family run restaurant, we opted for 2 house specials, moussaka and the roasted stuffed veg, I will add at this point I don't actually like moussaka but I picked it to share with the wife as she loves it and a full portion is usually too much for her.

Service from start to finish was great, we were treated like family, bread and olives to start, a small desert to finish (no charge) and raki with a kick.

What a find! Authentic home cooked Cretan food and incredible hospitality. I'm vegan and there were so many options for me here, as well as a full menu of meat, fish, and veggie options. We had several mezze dishes and everything was so delicious. The owner, Eleni, was so warm and welcoming, and the food was home cooked by her and her Mum. We had a table right on the square and the atmosphere was great. This was by far the best meal of our trip. Amazing value too, can't recommend...

This is a smaller restaurant in the main square area of Hersonissos and not to be missed! While other tavernas were actively calling out to tourists to get them to eat at their place, Stou Stereou did not. The owner was extremely welcoming and explained everything. This was our last meal in Crete and it did not disappoint. We loved people watching while we ate and the host was so nice. She even gave us a second round of raki after the first as a surprise.
