It was alright. Most of the food was great, for example, I never order Kalamari, but ny friends wanted some, and I went along with it. And boy was I in for a pleasant surprise.
Other than that, the food was pretty good. The fried shrimp, not so much, the house wine .... Ok at best...
The bread... As well...
The main fish, we had the sea bass, they wanted 3 euro extra to fillet, which, I never heard about before, so, if you are familiar with this, ok, otherwise, fillet my fish please, and make no bones (haha) about it.
No desert, because this has been the most expensive and least "value-for-money" which is a shame...
I really don't know why everything was so expensive.
We had a 250 euro bill (6 people), that could have been, 180 easy. Some saganaki, some shrimp, some fava, some house wine, no fancy stuff... No desert. No lobster...
So you make your own mind, I still gave it a 4/5 because the experience on the whole was very good, the staff were also attentive, We were sitted far away, and still I never felt like they didn't see or care about me. Good on them.
The chairs were also very comfortable. Not a given! Most restaurants want you out, this place was very pleasant to sit at.
Just a bit pricey... Wish they restructure.
Other than that, all the best to them and you , the reader of this lengthy article.
I love Crete. I love their kitchen. Have fun! Worst case, pay a little...
Read moreThis restaurant was recommended by a shoestore owner. It is located just outside the tourist area but it has a great view at the sea. Here they dont drag you in and besides the location the atmosphere is quite plain at first sight. The waiter warns you (very polite, so dont get me wrong). before you order: this is not the food you are used to as a tourist. This is authentic Greek food and we have mostly locals here. Looking around (was half filled, but we arrived before rush hour: 9pm) there hardly were any tourists, besides a French couple who didn't have listened to the waiter and were complaining. Yes, again, pay attention to the waiter. Besides that you can ask questions what is what (they have pretty accurate pictures also). You can order several dishes at the same time or one by one. I was very happy to try something else than all the grilled meat. I love grilled meat, but 7 days in row is toon much. This is the place to be for seafood, but also for vegetarians it is good. The spicy shrimps are very tasty. I tried several dishes, not all were my cup of tea, but that is just me being a meat lover. Nonetheless it is high quality and staff is very nice. When you are finished you get a complimentary scoop of ice and a small bottle of raki. If you want to taste some real Greek food: this is the...
Read moreNot for big fish! We have been coming here for years and recommended this restaurant as we never had a bad experience with small fried Greek fish and various small plates. Yesterday we ordered a big expensive fish that was to be grilled per waiters recommendation. We envisioned a fish with grill marks as it should be even if it wasn't charcoaled grill which is rare to find in Greece nowadays at least electric or gas? This fish was air fried not even on flat grill! Very Disappointing! We ordered greens to go with the fish they were out of it but failed to tell us we were waiting for it for ever only when we asked the waiter said that another waiter should have had relayed the message and the good thing is that we did not charge you for it was his remark! OMG! Service was terrible! The waiter was sweating constantly yes it was very hot but was wiping his sweat with his hands and sleeve constantly! So sad to see a restaurant that once was my favorite go...
