I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an extremely disappointing experience we had at your restaurant on the evening of Thursday, 10th of July. On Tuesday of the same week, we visited the restaurant in person and made a reservation for Thursday night with a man who was working at the time. However, when we arrived on Thursday for our booking, we were told that there was no reservation in our name. We explained that we had spoken with the same gentleman on Tuesday to make the reservation, yet he claimed he had no recollection of us and insisted there was no booking. To make matters worse, when we attempted to clarify the situation, a woman who we spoke with was unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and displayed a poor attitude throughout the interaction. Rather than trying to resolve the issue or offer any kind of apology, we were made to feel as though we were lying. Ultimately, we were turned away, which was both frustrating and embarrassing. We had been looking forward to dining at your establishment, and this experience left us extremely disappointed—not only due to the mishandled reservation, but also because of the unprofessional and disrespectful treatment we received. I hope you take this complaint seriously and investigate the matter appropriately. At the very least, I would expect an acknowledgment of the issue and reassurance that steps will be taken to prevent similar situations...
Read moreWe’ve just got back from being in holiday on the island of Hersonissons, we decided to go to Cretan Blue restaurant as I had previous seen it promoted online. From the get go the staff were so caring and strived to create an amazing atmosphere. The views were incredible, however every so often sat along the ocean you’d get splashed with water but that’s what we expected when sat so close to the ocean. We got to see lovely little fish in the ocean and it was the most romantic setting. The food was life changing ! Best food we had tasted in our full trip to Crete. We enjoyed our experience so much we went the next night too. Our full experience came to around 70 euro when we ordered a bottle of Rose wine, two starters and two mains with lovely staff and gorgeous views which is a lot more expensive in the UK.
The only down side to this experience is that since it’s such an open restaurant on the strip many people would leave without paying, forgetting that unfortunately the waitresses are lacking prices in there wages and it was so disrespectful to watch. I recommend to the business that if possible ensure that people pay their bill before getting their food or a more organised way to ensure that nothing like this disheartens the waiting staff.
The dish I really recommend is the starter focaccia best I’ve ever tasted, an amazing...
Read moreWe turned up a few days prior to see if they had a table down by the sea and mentioned it was my boyfriend’s 21st birthday, but unfortunately they were fully booked so we were advised to make a reservation for a few days time, and to also include specifications on where we would like to sit and about the birthday celebration.
The view, atmosphere and the food were wonderful - we watched the sunset, and the moon rise over the mountains. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, not just for us, but for the other tables as well.
There was also no recognition for my boyfriend’s birthday as well, which was a shame as the owner/manager had told us to add this to our booking prior, which we did.
At the end of our meal when we paid the bill, our waiter actually asked for a tip to be paid on the card machine! Not only is this cheeky and inappropriate, but there is also hardly any tipping culture in Crete/Greece - nothing like the UK or the US.
It’s also worth noting this was the most expensive meal on our holiday.
If you have plenty of time on your hands, don’t mind spending a bit more money and don’t mind waiting, the views and food are lovely, but definitely book a table in advance if you would like to...
