Arrived at this restaurant as we saw advertising for live music, the live music was good however the food and service was poor. There were 4 of us, and we were offered the special menu of a starter, salad, and main, then dessert for €22 per person, we accepted. The waitress toke a long time to take our order, once our order was taken it was a long wait for the starters to arrive in which I am vegetarian and ordered a vegetarian starter and the wrong one arrived, I had to take it back to the waitress to inform her in which she did apologise and said she misheard us. The mains came, and I had to again ask for my father in laws starter of mushroom soup. Which can only be described as dish water. This had a horrid taste. My father in law sent this back along with his main meal as the beef was so fatty it was not edible, when he explained to the waitress she said " I'm sorry about that, I didn't cook it" 😬 I had haddock in a tomato style sauce (which was meant to have come with boiled potatoes, they were not with the meal, nor did they arrive or get mentioned again) the sauce or liquid as it can only be described tasted and looked like fish stock and was really oily. I did not eat it. My salad was a tuna salad, this was full of water under the salad (photos attached).
We had to wait for tables to be cleared and then we asked for our bill, we are not ones to be rude so politely refused our desserts, we was offered to take away a yogurt to have for breakfast 😐 again we politely refused and just asked for the bill. The waitress had taken off the cost of the beef meal, but still, we were charged everything else, even the desserts we didn't have (I can only assume this is due to us not wanting them).
Service was really slow throughout, and the waitresses didn't seem very smiley, we feel maybe they were under staffed and overpopulated with the hotel(below) guest and other diners.
We would say the food was nothing but mediocre and...
Read moreFantastic view, tasty food and great service. Overall a great experience, staff welcoming, attentive and friendly throughout our visit. I had the 'flutes with bacon, cheese and sun-dried tomato filling', essential large spring rolls (fried pastry) with bacon, cheese and sun dried tomato; these were very tasty and the sauce accompanied them well. Partner had a Greek salad which was a good portion and tasty. We both had Chicken Souvlaki for our main, all tasted good (especially the chips, very good!), However only 1 skewer and the chicken pieces where small, compared to when we've had this same dish many times before at other restaurants (either 2 skewers, or 1 skewer of large pieces). The skewer also had mushrooms between the chicken pieces which we've never seen before, and wasn't mentioned on the menu; this also meant there was even less chicken on the skewer. For dessert we had the Chocolate souffle and Mille-feuille; both very good. Mille-feuille was creamy and light, and if you like warm chocolate brownie you'll love the chocolate souffle. Complementary slices of watermelon where...
