Great service, amazing views and friendly staff.
The beach is part of the One&Only Aesthesis complex in Glyfada, and it really met our expectations. The experience is luxurious and well worth the price.
The water is clear, the beach itself is sandy. The sunbeds are very comfortable.
The price is higher than the surrounding beaches - but it is more than fair. Valet parking is free (tips only), there is no entry fee other than the sunbed rent. Also, something that I haven’t seen elsewhere in Athens - the beach provides you with complimentary bottled water (and not just as a “welcome”, it’s for the whole day).
The complex is beautiful and luxurious, everything you’d expect from One&Only.
The staff is very friendly and there to meet every need you may have - hospitality as it should be. The beach is newly opened and the reviews saying the service wasn’t good are dated just after opening - it’s different now that they’ve run up to speed. Other beaches in the area could learn a lot about hospitality from the service at Manko.
Also, the pool area is great to sit around and the shops surrounding it are a nice touch.
We’re looking forward to coming here again!
A suggestion for management is to instruct the beach waiters to interrupt less, as it feels intrusive when the waiter pops up during conversation to ask if we’d like anything to order and not to ask so directly about the tip. Other than that, everything...
Read moreDisappointing and unwelcoming experience We visited Manko to inquire about the prices for two sunbeds and an umbrella. We walked over from the One&Only Aesthesis resort via the beach. I first asked for information at the bar inside, and a staff member kindly directed me to the entrance where someone explained the details to me.
Meanwhile, my girlfriend was waiting by one of the side entrances to the beach. I was informed that a private event was taking place, so I went back to meet her and we planned to return the same way we had come.
At that point, a very self-important security guard appeared and refused to let us walk back the same way, even though we were no longer inside the restaurant area. We were told we had to exit via the main gate and walk along the street instead. We explained that we simply wanted to return to the beach and walk back to the One&Only Resort — the same route we had used to get there — but were told that this was not allowed.
I’ve rarely experienced such rudeness and arrogance. How can a business treat potential customers this way? We were merely trying to get information and were fully prepared to spend money there.
Also, it’s worth mentioning that Greek beaches are public by law. Reading through other reviews, it seems we’re not alone in this experience. Truly disappointing — it raises serious questions about how Manko values...
Read moreManko Glyfada is visually stunning, but that’s where the positives end. This place caters almost exclusively to foreigners, selling a fake sense of exclusivity while overcharging for everything. The service is poorly trained, the parking experience is horrendous, and the prices are absurd. Initially, they charged €220 just to book a sunbed, which didn’t include anything else. Now, they’ve reduced prices to €110 on weekdays and €150 on weekends, but even that feels like a rip-off considering the poor beach quality. They even have a poor guy in scuba gear trying to clean the sea daily—an effort as futile as searching for a needle in a haystack.
The entrance is through the One & Only hotel, and they don’t allow walk-ins, leaving one to wonder how they plan to fill this massive venue from October to May.
It’s a shame they’ve chosen this path because the venue has great potential. Management needs to rethink their strategy before it’s too late. Glyfada isn’t trying to be Cannes, and pretending otherwise is a mistake. Meanwhile, those heading to the Four Seasons are enjoying a much more hospitable experience for far less money and hassle.
Overall, Manko Glyfada feels like a classic case of “αρπαχτή”—a quick cash grab at the expense of quality and authenticity. Management should reconsider before the locals and even the tourists see...
