No, I cannot recommend this place and I don't understand that it has got such good recommendations. The quality and taste is less than medium. If you have made or you are actually for holidays in crete you know what really great food you can get in so many places there, in almost every simple kafenion. And this restaurant is due to that a full disappointment and somehow expensive. For example we ordered grilled squid, the portion was almost nothing, very small, and we paid 11 Euro for it. The Beet root and the Fava portion were okay, but had not a good taste. The potato chips came at the very end after this small and not ambitious dinner, after we asked twice for it. Disappointing on our last evening on crete. So again learned that Google recommendations can...
Read moreWe went to eat in this restaurant in our last night in Crete. We were very pleased to see very good comments, so that is why we choose it. When we arrived, the music inside was super loud. They told us that in Instagram there were pictures of the menu, but there was no reference to the menu in the pictures🤔. People started to arrive to the restaurant (inside room) and everybody smoked inside! There were signs inside the restaurant indicating not to smoke!! We were literally eating in a smoking cloud. We have been for a week in Crete and the service has always been perfect. Apparently this place is not for...

Since I seldom give out fives anymore, four is the new five, which means places that serve you cooked to death meatballs and fries with cheese rather than what you really ordered don't get 4. Three and a half would be appropriate here. The service and atmosphere were nice, and the food was fresh (if a bit dead, dead, dead). We'll go back for another try one day, but Tsirakos seems to be geared to the younger set. Or, maybe we just ordered the...
