Completely racist - AVOID AT ALL COSTS
My friends and I decided to come here to watch the euros final. We had heard good things about Jacksonās and so were excited to come. We had a small group of about 5 of us and when we entered the bar it was very busy ,all tables were taken but many customers were sitting/ standing around the steps so we did too. Immediately we were approached by a member of staff who very rudely asked us to leave and began using racial slurs. We were incredibly shocked but still politely asked why. This staff member then gave excuses that made no sense and the situation suddenly escalated as he was quickly joined by what seemed like his friends who also began using racial slurs. They then began to push around 2 of my friends who by the way did not raise their hands back once but still led to them being physically attacked and held by their necks and arms so hard it left bruises. We have picture evidence but unfortunately google reviews is currently not accepting these. Not only was this outrageous behaviour but incredibly upsetting and humiliating as we realised that we were the only group of people of colour in the bar and no one else doing exactly what we were had been approached, threatened and treated this way.
Iām deeply sickened by what had happened and Jacksonās bar did not step up and take responsibility as they should when we followed the incident up both on the night and the next morning. A lovelt group of women watched the events unfold and came to tell us that they too were shocked and angry at how we were treated. And when the bar would not taken action they left the bar out of solidarity with us too.
Since the event Jacksonās google page had been flooded with fake reviews to counteract our true reviews. I urge you to please take my advice and not come here if you hope to have a night out where you actually feel safe. There have been multiple reviews from the past also stating...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRacist and physically violent - I came to watch the euros final at Jacksonās and left incredibly shocked and distraught by the physical and verbal racist attacks on my friends. I want to start by saying that previous reviews left by people I was with have been flooded with replies from staff trying to drown them out. There are many reviews regarding racist experiences at Jacksonās dating years prior to our experience, and neighbouring bars themselves have had bad experiences with Jacksonās - so please take this seriously.
As we entered the bar we saw it was busy and so sat on the floor, out of the way of other customers. Other customers were also sat next to us on the floor so we did not think this was a problem. A staff member approached us (the only non-white customers) and his first statement was a racist slur and racist comment, instructing us to leave. Understandably we were upset and asked why. This was met with a physical attack (described as an āattackā by the manager himself) leading two of my friends to have significant bruising on their arms and neck. Absolutely no retaliation nor instigation was present from our side to necessitate this level of physical force. There were numerous other customers who kindly supported us and even left the premises in tears due to witnessing such blatant and violent racism.
Due to this attack and being grabbed by the neck, my friend lost his valuable and sentimental chain - when we returned to search for this we saw other customers sat in our exact same seat with absolute no issues or complaints from staff. We also asked the manager if he could review the CCTV or ask staff to see if anyone had picked it up, but he declined to do so.
Ultimately, do not visit Jacksonās if you do not wish to witness racism. All our other experiences in Kos have been incredibly wonderful, with only the staff at Jacksonās leaving such a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter a long year of pandemic my family and I decide to take a trip, and we choose the wonderful island of kos as our destination. After reading the nice reviews about the Jaksonsbar we decided to go there. The first day all right, we had lunch and drank at the bar. The second day, when we returned to spend another day by the sea, the welcome was a bit abrupt. But we didn't pay much attention to it. The problem was around 12:30 pm. After having quietly lunch and drunk at the bar, we went back to our four deckchairs, which, however, unexpectedly became two. In our two deckchairs there were some boys, who, after our numerous questions about where our things had gone, answer that they knew nothing about it. Walking around we found our towels on a bench ahead. We immediately asked the waiters for an explanation, who promptly rudely ignored us. If we had been told to move we would have understood and asked, but moving things without permission and not even answering questions does not seem like good behavior. Despite the nervousness, 4 of us sat on our two deckchairs when we witnessed a depressing scene. Two waiters from the bar took two boys' towels and threw them in the bins. We therefore understand that it was not just our case. I am very sorry for the rudeness of this bar, which made a good impression on me. I will return with pleasure to the wonderful island of kos, but never to this bar where ignorance and...
