Dear Mykonos,
You asked me to delete or edit my review, so here we go again.
The location is excellent, but thats about it. I came here a few days ago to enjoy a beautiful atmosphere, the ocean view, and a bit more expensive food for a romantic dinner. However, this quickly turned into an unfortunate restaurant experience.
Let me explain.
We ordered two pizzas for roughly 18 euros each. It looked factory made, it tasted factory made and it felt factory made. I am not saying it is as I did not physically go into their kitchen to check up on this, however i was close to do so.
After asking the staff if the pizza really was fresh homemade or if it was from a supermarket I was told that it the dough was homemade. I Immediately gave them a one star review.
I later saw the chef come out pointing at me and waving me to get down to him in the restaurant building. Then the waiter came up to me and told me to get down to them. I asked why but he did not tell me why to break up my "romantic" dinner. After asking the waiter several times why I should get up and go down to the chef and the rest of the staff I gave up and went down there.
Walking solo down to three staff members they confronted me about my honest opinion. They wanted me to delete my post, showed me their fresh homemade pizza dough which i politely said did not seem like actual pizza dough according to my experience. I then asked about the vegetables which both tasted and looked like frozen or glassed ones (especially the yellow tinted mushrooms).
I refused to back down and walked back to my fiance and tried to eat the rest of my food. Not because I liked it but because I had already paid for it.
I talked with the other guests who had also ordered the pizzas and some of them did not even touch it and instead had some of their friend's food.
This was not about winning an argument — it was about the principle of being allowed to share an honest experience without being publicly confronted and pressured to retract it. I came for a peaceful dinner, not a confrontation.
This entire ordeal made my fiancée uncomfortable, ruined our evening, and left me shocked at how staff handled criticism. I understand that reviews can be difficult to read as a business owner, but chasing down a guest over a single star and turning it into a spectacle is not the way to handle it.
In my experience a better approach would have been to listen, take the feedback seriously, and work to improve the food.
One star remains. Not because of a bad dish, but because of the way I was treated for saying...
Read moreEdit after restaurant response: I see that I've triggered some insecurities and I can tell that you were never held accountable for your lack of quality before. But I'd like some answers, since you're so willing to respond:) but not what you would write to your diary like the one you've posted, actual real answers please☺️ veggies were not ripe and tasty in the greek salad and I know you can find better, I've spent some time on the island, the bread you served was STALE. The calamari was too stiff and cold, it was not crisp and it was not tender on the inside. And I've paid 57 euros mister(I assume you're a man since a woman cannot be this delusional) now please give me a reasonable answer now, if you can:)
Another trap for easily impressed tourists, Dont be deceived by the rating. If you've never had anything edible in your life, what they serve here might actually taste good to you. The only fresh and tasty thing was, green peppers in our greek salad. And maybe water, but I assume it was...
Read moreThere is no doubt this is in a lovely spot, who doesn’t love eating in the beach?
Unfortunately our food was awful. We started with Tzatziki and pitta, which had an odd aftertaste and for mains, I ordered the Moussaka and my partner had lamb chops. The former was dry, had no visible meat or tomato and tasted strongly of cinnamon, I barely touched it as it was so bad. The chops were very tough and unseasoned, there was barely any salad and only the chips were passable.
No one asked us how the food was until I went to the till to pay, when a passing waiter asked me how good the food was, I politely said ‘not very good’ and he stormed off sulking without another word. Who knows what kind of tantrum he would have had if I was honest and direct.
It’s unfortunate restaurants with such a lovely location fail to follow up with quality food or service, as it is a...
