Fantastic wine tasting experience highlighting the best the region has to offer, tucked away in a beautiful building you can only find thanks to the hand painted signed dotting the path. Father & son owners are the charm of this spot and both speak English beautifully (+ Spanish, and probably other languages too). True connoisseurs of wine who love what they do. They offer 6 glass tastings (3 white, 1 rose, 1 red, 1 dessert wine—all from the local region) + 3 small meze plates (bruschetta, cucumber w yogurt & oregano, and cheese w paprika) for €35/person. Reasonably priced for a unique experience only available in Monemvasia. 🍝 You MUST order the meatballs (€9 and worth every penny). Homemade fresh to order, oregano heavy, and paired with a slightly sweet spaghetti. Together, they are heavenly and unlike anything else I’ve eaten in Greece. 🍷Also available by the glass (mine was €8). They also have Kaiser beer. ♿️ Not accessible by the Main Street. Approximately 100 steps down with no railing. But wide stairs and semi well lit.

Very friendly owner (Vion). Explained a lot about wines and their origin, but in a very entertaining way. Even gave us a very detailed route description as how to get to Monemvasia. Very welcoming, nice tapas and fantastic wines. The red 300 wine was my favourite, but more importantly; Even if you don't know all about wine, the wine tasting is very recommended as Vion is great story teller and and won't bother you with endless monologues and deep wine filosophy. We had a lovely time and would definitely go back. Big plus is also the nice and quiet area where the bar is located, a bit away from the main street.

We absolutely loved our wine tasting experience at Byron's bar and would recommend that anyone visiting Monemvasia stops by for a glass of wine and a lovely chat. The value of the tasting itself is unbeatable and the quality of the wines is exceptional. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and we absolutely loved the space. But what truly stands out from the experience is the warmth and hospitality of Byron himself, a man with a myriad stories and experiences that are worth listening to. What a lovely place! Will definitely return once we're in Monemvasia again.

While wandering around Monemvasia we poked or heads in here because it's an interesting looking space. The woman who runs it invited us in with a comforting "please feel free to look around, don't worry about buying anything". We ended up chatting with her for awhile and then did end up each getting a glass of wine to be able to sit and chat some more. We were joined by a lovely group from Wales and there were interesting stories all around. The woman who runs the shop is very carefree and low pressure. Our visit here will remain one of the highlights of our visit...
