We would like to give a hundred stars ⭐️ An authentic and unforgettable experience! During our stay in Mykonos, we discovered a true gem: “Andreas and Maria”. It’s hard to find the right words to express just how positive this experience was and how at home we felt in this wonderful taverna! Everything — and we mean everything — was absolutely delicious, plentiful, and made with genuine, high-quality ingredients. The cuisine is authentic and traditional, and you can truly taste the love in every dish. The prices are excellent, especially considering the quality and generosity of the portions. Each time we dined there, they offered us something — a dessert, a liqueur — thoughtful gestures that make all the difference and speak volumes about the Greek hospitality in general, and the warmth that lives in this beautiful restaurant. A special thank you goes to the waitstaff, Vaggelis and Dimitra, who were always incredibly kind, smiling, and ready to recommend the best dishes of the day, chat with us, and make us feel like part of the family. And then there are Andreas and Maria themselves — the heart and soul of the place. Two lovely, kind people who share their deep love for their land, its products, and its traditions with every plate that comes out of the kitchen. Eating here isn’t just a meal — it’s a heartfelt experience. Out of our 7 days on the island, we came back 5 times (and regretted not coming every single night)! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to experience the real Greece in its most genuine and delicious form! Thank you for everything, we truly hope to come back and visit you again 🦐🍝🍖🥧🍷 Luca...
Read moreAgain, I decided to go to this taverna purely on the 5 star rating and the reasonable cost.
The problem with eating in Mykonos town is that the places are geared for tourists. I prefer places that care about the locals and repeat business. Now I wouldn’t have been able to have eaten at Andreas and Maria unless I had a car because it is a long distance from the town.
When I walked in, I noticed how bright and airy the taverna was. I was served by a teen who I assume is the son. He had a good command of English.
I decided to have the Greek salad without feta which was greeted with without feta like it is a sin to have a Greek salad without feta (which is true). I also ordered french fries which were homemade (which was a mistake). I then ordered a pork chop which ended up coming with fries.
The salad was normal, the fries nice and fresh. The pork chop was so moist and not dry - that is one good chop.
I decided to push the boat out and I had the panna cotta for dessert. It was tasty with a toffee drizzle over it.
This is a taverna you need to go out your way for authentic, from the...
Read moreWhat a disaster.... They should change the name to microwave express!
So first we got the menu... 40/60 dishes (entrances and main dishes, how is it possible?). We order just a salad, grilled eggplant with tomato sauce and a pizza. This wasn't what we wanted to eat, but we saw another table order arriving and it was too fast (they arrived at same time and less than 5 minutes had the food served)....
While we were waiting we just heard the famous Plim Plim Plim... For a grill house and not even having a little bit of smoke... Suspicious!
When the food arrived everything made sense. Nothing is cooked when asked but pre prepared and goes to the microwave. Also the quality is horrible! Last when we went to pay, we saw the cookers removing cleaning film from food that was just taken out from the famous microwave for other clients!!!!!
Sorry this is not a restaurant, its just a school Cantine... Can't understand all the good reviews... But probably it's me that is wrong... Probably it's just Mikonos standards were...
