You’ve only eaten breakfast, it’s 5pm and you’ve spent the day at the beach. At around 3pm you’ve also had some beers. Now you’re hungry and are craving some pasta. You look for places with pizza & pasta and this one comes up with 4.6 stars, it appears to be one of the highest rated around the area. After reading that they serve genuine pizza Napolitana you’re sold. Upon arrival you ask the waiter what he recommends but he doesn’t understand English. Then you try with Italian but he doesn’t understand that either (red flag since the assumption was this was genuine pizza Napolitana). Anyway you’re craving pasta so using the fingers you point to the pasta plates and ask him what he recommends. He says “Lasagna”, so you proceed to order it. Your girlfriend is jealous so she orders “gnocchi alla Sorrentina”. Plates arrive shortly after. They don’t look good. They don’t taste good. They are not large portions (which at this point is almost a relief). You finish quick and try to move on and forget. You wonder what type of meat was in the lasagna and whether “Sorrentina” is a fancy name for “tomato sauce”. But first the bill. 43 euros for gnocchi, lasagna, water (5€ for 1 litre) and a “cover charge” of 2€. If you made it this far in the review and you’re still not in the restaurant go somewhere else and get a Souvlaki, it will...
Read moreWe were absolutely thrilled to discover Na’ Verace during our stay in Mykonos. The food was top notch and we teared up with every bite. You can tell that every element from the tomato sauce to the dough of every pie and dish were made with love and pride. Our first time trying it was dine in and we were shocked to find that place had a beautiful view looking over Mykonos! The owner & wait staff were so kind to us and made us feel very at home. The next day after a long day of walking around the island we ended up ordering in - the delivery service was easy, timely, & the pizza was in perfect condition (even warm still) upon arrival. Thank you so much for the magical food experience during our stay. Ignore all the hateful comments on here (we are upset to see the bullying people have the audacity to have on here) because you guys truly have a wonderful place and product to gift...
Read moreI've been there a couple of times so far and I'm really happy with my experience. The restaurant is about 10-15 minutes walk from the old town in a modest neighborhood. The place is quiet and family friendly.
The staff is really nice and they have a true understanding and passion for napolitean traditions. They also offer a fairly exhaustive menu and make excellent traditional pizzas. The dough is slightly crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Any connoisseurs of pizza napoletana will recognize the know how of a real maestro.
The prices are cheap compare to other places in Mykonos; not so far off of what you'd find in big cities. Of course it may be more expansive than a souvlaki joint or a traditional Greek taverna but you'll get to discover authentic products...
