The Liberty Breakfast Room — Restaurant in Municipality of Mykonos

Read different reviews on this place but the food looked pretty good and it was close to our hotel so we decided to try it out. It was actually the first breakfast in Greece where the eggs were cooked deliciously. The scrambled eggs came in a big portion on top of toast and had truffle oil. Ordered a side of bacon which was also the first time it was fully cooked during our time here in Greece. They are a thicker cut bacon but we liked it. I ordered the cyclops, which also says ’egg-in-a-hole’ on the menu. With a description of ‘poached egg, ham and gruyere cheese’. I was expecting the egg to actually be in a hole IN the sandwich itself but was given a sandwich and a salad with a poached egg on the side. Not sure if this is what it’s suppose to be but it was definitely not what I was expecting. I also ordered a fruit salad with honey and yogurt. Not sure if this was Greek yogurt as it had a different consistency as other Greek yogurts I’ve had on this trip. But it is a big portion and was still tasty. While the prices here are a bit higher, it seems to be the overall theme on the island. We had no issues with service as stated in previous reviews but did have to get up and ask for our bill. I've been to this place twice as I really though I should give a second chance to this place due to its reviews. Unfortunately, both times I was dissapointing. The omelettes are scary angry looking (think of Joker smiling back to you) and severely miss seasoning. Furthermore, there is no spread to add a flavor to it. Some of those are advertised as roasted tomatoes and there is only one. In a few words the food here is blunt, expensive and the presentation really scary. (Maybe fun for kids that want to get scared) In addition, when its windy in Mykonos it makes it impossible too enjoy this place due to the lack of protection against it. Your only option is to be seated in the solarium which they keep with the doors open as it gets hot while this area has no air conditioning. As a result the wind comes through those doors and literally blows the tables scape off the table. Fans exist at the solarium area which both times were off. The view and the location is really nice and it's sad the place doesn't compliment it with their cuisine. Finally, the waiter would sit 3 big guys at a small table and won't allow us to switch to a bigger one as they could potentially give that one to larger if they ever came though which is...

Muy mala experiencia, pésima atención al cliente

Fuimos a este restaurante esperando una buena experiencia y nos encontramos con algo totalmente inaceptable: encontramos huevos de insectos (probablemente de mosca o gusanos) en la ensalada. Llamamos al mesero de inmediato para mostrarle lo que habíamos encontrado y le pedimos por favor que lo consultara con el chef.

Su respuesta fue que “el chef dice que todo está bien”, como si nosotras no supiéramos reconocer lo que claramente eran huevos de algún insecto. Ante esa respuesta tan poco profesional, pedimos la cuenta. En ningún momento nos ofrecieron una disculpa ni un gesto de compensación. Tuvimos incluso que mostrar fotos de Google para explicarles lo riesgoso que eso puede ser para la salud, y aun así, lo único que nos ofrecieron fue un postre. Nunca nos ofrecieron un descuento, a pesar de lo grave del asunto y de que no pudimos ni terminar nuestra comida.

La manager ni siquiera se acercó a hablar con nosotras ni a pedir disculpas. Para ser un lugar con precios elevados, la atención fue pésima y la manera en la que manejaron la situación fue realmente decepcionante.

No lo recomiendo en absoluto. Muy mal gusto, muy mal manejo y cero responsabilidad ante una situación delicada de higiene.

Terrible experience, very poor customer service

We came to this restaurant expecting a good experience and encountered something completely unacceptable: we found insect eggs (likely from flies or worms) in the salad. We immediately called the waiter to let him know and asked if he could check with the chef.

He came back saying “the chef says everything is fine,” as if we didn’t know how to recognize what were clearly insect eggs. After such an unprofessional response, we asked for the bill. At no point did they offer an apology or any form of compensation. We even had to show them Google images to explain how dangerous this could be for our health, and still, all they offered was a dessert. No discount was ever offered, despite the seriousness of the situation and the fact that we couldn’t even finish our meal.

The manager never came to speak to us or apologize. For such an expensive place, the service was awful and the way they handled everything was truly disappointing.

I do not recommend this place at all. Very poor service, bad taste, and no responsibility shown in a serious hygiene matter.

Πολύ κακή εμπειρία, απαράδεκτη εξυπηρέτηση πελατών

Πήγαμε σε αυτό το εστιατόριο με την προσδοκία μιας ωραίας εμπειρίας, αλλά συναντήσαμε κάτι εντελώς απαράδεκτο: βρήκαμε αυγά εντόμων (πιθανότατα από μύγες ή σκουλήκια) στη σαλάτα. Καλέσαμε αμέσως τον σερβιτόρο για να του δείξουμε τι βρήκαμε και του ζητήσαμε να ρωτήσει τον σεφ.

Μας είπε ότι «ο σεφ λέει ότι όλα είναι εντάξει», λες και δεν ξέραμε να αναγνωρίσουμε κάτι που ήταν ξεκάθαρα αυγά εντόμων. Μετά από αυτή την αντιεπαγγελματική απάντηση, ζητήσαμε τον λογαριασμό. Σε καμία στιγμή δεν μας προσφέρθηκε συγγνώμη ή κάποια αποζημίωση. Αναγκαστήκαμε να δείξουμε φωτογραφίες από το Google για να τους εξηγήσουμε πόσο επικίνδυνο μπορεί να είναι αυτό για την υγεία, και το μόνο που μας πρόσφεραν ήταν ένα γλυκό. Δεν μας έκαναν καμία έκπτωση, παρόλο που το πρόβλημα ήταν σοβαρό και δεν μπορέσαμε καν να ολοκληρώσουμε το φαγητό μας.

Η υπεύθυνη δεν ήρθε καν να μας μιλήσει ή να ζητήσει συγγνώμη. Για ένα τόσο ακριβό μέρος, η εξυπηρέτηση ήταν απαράδεκτη και ο τρόπος που διαχειρίστηκαν την κατάσταση ήταν πραγματικά απογοητευτικός.

Δεν το προτείνω καθόλου. Πολύ κακή εμπειρία, έλλειψη ευθύνης και καθόλου επαγγελματισμός σε ένα σοβαρό...
