Between the Castle of Mykonos and Scarpa area is the picturesque and beautiful neighborhood that with its colorful balconies looks like it is hanging over the sea.

In Little Venice or Alefkandra in Mykonos Town, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in Greece. It is a district that began to be built from the middle of the 18th century and consisted of residences of rich merchants and captains. Excellent architecture with colorful windows, doors, stairs, wooden balconies that literally get wet from the wave and remind a lot of the well-known Italian city!

Little Venice is one of the most picturesque locations on the island, and a meeting point for romantic souls visiting the island. Rows of medieval two- and three-story houses stand literally on the edge of the sea, their wooden balconies hanging over the waves. Today, most of them function as bars, cafes, shops and art galleries. Visiting this spot is definitely worth it while the sun is setting, while enjoying a coffee or a cocktail.

In the afternoons, hundreds of visitors gather here to admire one of the most beautiful sunsets of the Aegean, but an equally enchanting sight is when there is bad weather and the wild sea hits the...

Little Venice is one of the most romantic and picturesque corners of Mykonos. Located right on the water’s edge, this colorful row of 18th-century houses once belonged to wealthy merchants and captains. Today, they’re home to stylish bars, restaurants, and art galleries—many with balconies that hang directly over the sea. From this viewpoint, especially near the windmills or from the Sea Satin Market area, you’ll witness crashing waves, beautiful light, and the kind of ambiance that makes Mykonos unforgettable. This is the perfect sunset-watching spot—get there 30–60 minutes early to find the best place to sit or grab a drink. Whether you’re sipping a cocktail or just sitting on the rocks with your camera, the view is breathtaking. At night, the area glows with warm lights and the sound of clinking glasses and live music. It’s a bit more expensive than other parts of town, but the atmosphere is absolutely worth it. Don’t miss it—it’s where memories (and perfect vacation...

This neighborhood is replete with beautiful and historical old houses that are situated precariously on the edge of the sea. The neighborhood starts at the Alefkandra beach and extends right into the peripheral areas of Kastro, as it is popularly referred to.

The construction of the Little Venice neighborhood is estimated to have taken place from the 13th to the mid-18th century. During this timeframe, the island used to be under the Venetian rule. Most of these houses used to belong to wealthy persons, such as merchants or captains, hence the elegant architecture of the buildings. In the days of yore, some of the island's most distinguished families owned a house right on the picturesque shoreline.

Many of these houses were later converted into restaurants and cafes which are still very conspicuous by their old...
