ΤΟ ΚΥΜΑ - All Day Cafe Koufonisia — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

My review is specifically for the brunch, as I cannot comment on the loukoumades or cocktails since I visited this establishment in the morning.

Some years ago, there were several factors that led me to consider this place poorly. However, I’m pleased to share that recent improvements have significantly enhanced my experience, leading to a revised rating of 4 stars.

Location: The location is undoubtedly one of the best on the island, offering an incredible and inviting atmosphere.

Menu: The menu boasts a wide variety of options, catering to diverse tastes and preferences, which is highly commendable.

Initial Concerns: Portion Sizes: Initially, I found the portions to be on the smaller side. For instance, I had an omelette and a sandwich with salad, which seemed insufficient at the time. Service: The service was slow during my initial visit, with staff struggling to keep up with our requests. Temperature of Food: The brunch was served cold, which significantly affected my overall satisfaction.

Additionally, a friend who paid via POS noticed that the facilities, including the kitchen, were in poor and dirty condition, which was very disappointing given the restaurant's prime location.

Recent Improvements: Since then, it seems the management has taken constructive feedback seriously and made considerable improvements: The portion sizes have increased, providing better value for money. The service has become more efficient and responsive, ensuring a more pleasant dining experience. The brunch is now served at the appropriate temperature, greatly enhancing the quality of the meal. The cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities have markedly improved, reflecting a commitment to hygiene and customer satisfaction.

In conclusion, while my initial visit left much to be desired, the positive changes implemented by the management have transformed this place into a delightful spot for brunch. Went there for brunch. Great location, literally by the sea. The good stuff end right about there. 1) Very slow and unequal service. We would expect all of our order to be delivered at once. Instead some of us would eat while the other would wait 2) when my order came (eggs with sauce hollandaise and some other stuff) both the eggs and the hollandaise were cold. Combined with the fact that my order came last makes me understand that it was ignored from the waiter 3) poor hygienic conditions. Πρώτη μέρα στα Κουφονήσια και επηρεαζόμενοι από τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο θέλαμε να επισκεφτούμε το διπλανό κατάστημα από το κύμα καθώς είναι πιο γνωστό. Όμως δεν βρήκαμε να κάτσουμε οπότε ο δρόμος μας οδήγησε στο κύμα. Ωραία θέα, άνετες θέσεις και ΤΕΛΕΙΑ ΚΟΚΤΕΙΛ. Ο άνθρωπος που τα φτιάχνει αρχικά είναι όντως προσηλωμένος σε αυτά που φτιάχνει και αυτό φαίνεται. Εμείς παραγγείλαμε το peanut daiquiri το οποίο σερβίρεται σε ποτηράκι της μαργαρίτας ( δυστυχώς) και ήταν α ψ ο γ ο . Η αλήθεια είναι ότι προσωπικά θα ήθελα άλλα 2-3 γιατί το ήπια μονορούφι. Και το δεύτερο που δοκιμάσαμε ήταν το pinneaple mai tai που ενώ είναι πιο απλό από το πρώτο ήταν εξίσου γευστικό και δροσερό. Την επόμενη μέρα πήγαμε στο πιο γνωστό μαγαζί για να μη μας μείνει απωθημένο. Και κατέληξα στο ότι ειλικρινά το κύμα είναι κλάσεις ανώτερο. Τα κοκτέιλ είναι 10/10 και η άνεση που σου προσφέρει με τις κανονικές καρέκλες του και τα κανονικά τραπέζια του (θα καταλάβετε τι εννοώ αν πάτε ή έστω περάσετε από το γνωστό μαγζί του νησιού) το κάνουν ξεκάθαρο δεκάρι μαγαζί για κοκτειλάκι το βράδυ. 1. κάθε εμπόδιο για καλό
2. μην γίνεστε έρμαια του τικ τοκ και γενικότερα της μάζας

Ξαναήρθαμε τη τελευταία μέρα μας στο νησί και θα εμπλουτίσω τη κριτική μου. Αυτή τη φορά ήρθαμε για brunch και ήταν πολύ νόστιμο. Πήραμε pancakes με αλατισμένη καραμέλα τοπππππ και ματάκι με τηγανιτές πατάτες και μπέικον (οι καλύτερες πατάτες που φάγαμε στο νησί). Επίσης αν και εγώ δεν πίνω καφέ, δοκίμασα το φρέντο εσπρέσο και μου άρεσε (πρώτη φορά στα χρονικά). Το σέρβις για άλλη μια φορά σβέλτο, ευγενικό και χαμογελαστό. Εύχομαι καλές δουλειές...
