We visited this restaurant two nights in a row. We returned on the second night as we had enjoyed the food and it was pretty good value. However, on the second night we had a really bad experience. We ordered several dishes and the first one arrived. We were just about start eating it, after it had sat on our table for a couple of minutes, when the owner snatched it away and said it was for someone else. We didn't mind but thought it was a bit gross for the other people. Also the owner started shouting at the waiter, in public, for bringing us the dish. We then received our other dishes apart from one. We did also receive another dish that was someone else again. When we asked if it was meant for us, the owner really started to shout at the server again in public. It was pretty uncomfortable and we felt really sorry for the server. Other customers were glancing around, obviously feeling rather uncomfortable too. We finished our meal and wanted to pay. We asked about the dish that we hadn't received and asked to have it removed from the bill. The server said he would have to ask the owner. The owner then proceeded to shout at the server again and just ignored us. We called him over and he said to wait one minute whilst he cooked it for us. I explained that we had finished eating our meal a while ago and didn't want it. He got extremely angry and shouted at us and said he was cooking it for us. There were about 12 other customers in the restaurant and it was quite embarrassing having him shout at us, especially after having spent quite a bit of money in his business over the two days. We both said that we didn't want it and we gave him the money that we owed and left, whilst he stood there shouting at the poor...

Read moreOur lunch at Elizabeth’s Garden on the picturesque island of Naxos was a delightful experience that encapsulated the essence of traditional Greek cuisine and warm hospitality. This charming family-owned restaurant truly exceeded our expectations.
For our meal, we had the pleasure of trying the Greek pasta dish known as Pastitsio, which featured a rich, red sauce infused with aromatic spices like cloves. The standout feature of this dish was the handmade pasta, typically referred to as “Hilopites,” a traditional Greek pasta cut into small, square or diamond-shaped pieces. The combination of flavors and textures in the Pastitsio was a true culinary delight.
Accompanying our Pastitsio was Elizabeth’s Salad, a vibrant and refreshing medley of fresh ingredients that perfectly complemented the flavors of our main dish. The use of locally sourced, fresh ingredients was evident, enhancing the overall quality of our dining experience.
In conclusion, Elizabeth’s Garden on Naxos Island is a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of Greek cuisine, with the standout Pastitsio, paired with heartfelt hospitality. If you’re in search of tasty traditional dishes and a warm family atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-visit destination on your Naxos...
