After reading brilliant reviews on google and trip advisor we decided to come here for a meal. We left this restaurant genuinely wondering if any of the previous reviewers owned a single taste bud. God knows where the good reviews are coming from because this restaurants food was awful, bland and overpriced. First looking at the starters, a mere garlic bread was priced at €7.40, clearly trying to rip off tourists. We ordered ‘bread and butter’ for it to not arrive and when we asked for it again, it came with three dips and no butter, the waiter couldn’t be bothered to explain what all the dips were except for olive one and when we asked about butter he said he had none which I find difficult to believe in a restaurant. The bread was stale also. We waited a fair bit for the food to arrive and it was not good. The ‘rosemary chicken’ was chicken in what tasted like packet gravy with some bits of rosemary and onion added to it, the chicken was not fresh chicken breast as it was rubbery and didn’t even have the texture of breast. The souvlaki looked okay but given it’s a traditional Greek meal, could have been far far better and did not live up to the standard we’d experienced in other restaurants. The massive menu was a huge put off at the start, in general if a restaurant has such a big menu you know for a fact it’s not all going to be fresh. The traditional Greek items were way at the back as well so was clearly geared towards tourists. Again, if you’ve left this place a good review, give your head a wobble because that food had no taste or flavour and was severely lacking. Genuinely miffed about paying for it. Staff were friendly enough. I don’t generally leave negative reviews but this place certainly...
Read moreIf you're looking for a nice meal at a reasonable price, then you need to eat at Fridas Family restaurant. It's a solid 10/10. This was our favourite restaurant to eat at during our stay in Sidari. We had dinner here on 3 nights. The service was excellent from Christos and the other staff. Very entertaining of our children in a funny way. We would have had dinner every night of our 10 days holiday but wanted to see what else Sidari had to offer.
The food quality is fantastic, the portions are plenty and the price is very reasonable. They bring out bread and a selection of dips - another reviewer says they were added to the bill, but I can't say I noticed this myself (We ate the bread and enjoyed it so happy to pay). We had many different dishes but I mainly ate the local dishes and chef specials which were amazing. Lamb on the spit was amazing. The steaks and pork chops were amazing with lovely BBQ smokey flavours. The chicken souvlaki and the stifado are also highly recommended. The house white wine was really nice and at the end of the meal they bring out a small piece of cake and ice cream. We were given chocolate cake which was to die for and there orange cake was spectacular ♥️
Next time we are in Sidari we will be back...
Read moreWorst food we have had in Sidari during our 12 night stay. I ordered chicken wings as a starter that had clearly been microwaved as the wings on the middle part of the plate were piping hot but the ones of the outside were cold to the touch. Equally these were drenched in a tomato Mariana which was strange and lacked flavour.
Possibly the worst pizza I have ever eaten. Dough not cooked all the way through, covered with copious amounts of cheese and toppings turning into a plate of uncooked dough and mush. After seeing a classic wood fired pizza oven I was optimistic that the pizza would be great but sadly we were both extremely disappointed with the state of what they call “pizza”
From an owner who stands in the road waving at cars and shouting on the phone and an inexperienced teenager churning out microwaved chicken and low quality pizza we will never be returning to this establishment.
The cheek to have “pizzeria” plastered on the sign outside and produce such awful food is...
