Unfortunately, I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone for now. Although the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, the food was genuinely disappointing. We ordered a chicken gyros pita and a chicken souvlaki pita. The only positive note was that the onions tasted fresh and had a nice crunch. Beyond that, the chicken souvlaki was dry, unseasoned, and had an unpleasant fishy taste. The chips were extremely soggy and bland, and the tzatziki tasted more like plain yoghurt than a proper sauce. The chicken gyros was also dry and lacking flavour. The bread was passable, but nothing memorable. Another issue was the music — the same song played on repeat for around 20 minutes until it became so irritating that we asked for it to be changed. Perhaps we were just unlucky and caught them on a bad day, as the place was completely empty. Still, I would advise some caution when considering a visit.
Since I truly wish to see this place thrive in the future, I’d like to offer a few kind suggestions based on my experience in restaurants and the kitchen. I’m not here to tell you what you must do — and I’m not Greek, so I don’t claim to know the “authentic” way to prepare the food. These are simply ideas based on what I would personally recommend. Firstly, to keep the chicken tender and flavourful, consider marinating it with a bit more seasoning and grilling it briefly at higher temperatures. This helps preserve the charred aroma without drying out the meat. Alternatively, using a juicier cut like chicken thigh instead of breast could make a big difference. Secondly, for chips that are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, make sure the cooking oil has reached a high enough temperature (around 180°C), especially if it hasn’t been used recently. Double-frying can also help achieve a perfect crunch. Thirdly, always ensure ingredients — especially meat — are fresh. A fishy taste in chicken can be a sign that it’s too old, which not only affects flavour but could pose a health risk. Lastly, regarding the music, perhaps you could try playing a copyright-free playlist from YouTube with a mix of songs. It would help create a more pleasant and varied atmosphere. I genuinely wish you all the best and hope to see this place improve...
Read moreWe had dinner at this restaurant and we ordered chicken on the grill and it was just good. The meat was dry and the taste was not fully developed. We ordered also olives, hummus (bit too salty€, salad and pita bread. Overall it was good. For drinks, we had white wine and beer, they were okay. The waitress was kind and friendly. And the atmosphere was okay. I would recommend to improve the display of the menu that you have at the entry of the restaurant because it looks old and the colours are not bright. We saw that many people stopped by to read the menu but didn’t come in so we were wondering why🤔 it could not about the prices because they are okay. So it must be how the menu is displayed or the content… I think would be good if you check it. And I hope you get more customers...
Read moreJust had fantastic experience here! We ordered souvlaki and meat was grilled right next to our table. The result was delicious, the owner noted all our special request regrading food servicing. The plates are huge, prices 100% fair for such a great quality and attitude. After we paid the check, we got free shots of rakia and several pieces of watermelon for desert as an extra treat! We will definitely come back and wholeheartedly recommend it. True Greek experience and warm family...
