Rouan Thai — Restaurant in Municipality of Piraeus

We visited the restaurant on October 7th, a party of two people. It is located in Piraeus on a quiet street. Although we opted to sit in the outside area we could see that inside it is decorated in a simple but ethnic style. We ordered:

1. Tom-yum-gai soup: Delicious and a great start for our meal
2. Fried sesame shrimps: It was ok but the shrimp was not especially tasty. Furthermore a small metal wire (?) was attached to on of the shrimp’s crust. We ate around this and mentioned this to our waitress, also showing this to her (still attached to the crust) but we received no feedback from the kitchen
3. Green curry and sticky rice: This was also tasty
4. Pad thai: I am no expert on Thai cuisine but I definitely liked this one

So, what justifies my 3 stars? First and foremost the wire in the shrimp. For me it is unacceptable to not even hear an apology from the establishment. Maybe our waitress did not pay attention to the complaint. Our waiter on the other hand was impecable. Very professional and friendly. Also, I think that the prices could be better about 10-20%. The raw materials included in the process are not that expensive. Of course this is just my personal opinion but we ended up paying around 60€ for what is essentially a soup, an appetizer, a pasta and a curry. The food at this restaurant is excellent, offering a wide variety of dishes to choose from. You can find everything from flavorful fried rice and spicy tomyum to curries prepared in different styles, as well as delicious dumplings and more. The hot dishes are served piping hot, and the portions are generous.

One tip: if the restaurant is busy, I recommend ordering everything you want at the beginning, as it might take some time for your food to arrive.

The drink selection is also noteworthy, with the milk tea standing out as one of the best options. For those who enjoy beer, they even offer Thai beer, which adds a nice touch to the meal.

The staff is incredibly kind and always cheerful, contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. It’s no surprise that this place is a favorite among locals and sailors in Piraeus. Highly recommended for a satisfying and enjoyable...

My favourite Thai spot!

This Thai restaurant consistently delivers incredibly good and flavorful food – truly a taste sensation every time! The service is impressively fast and always available, whether you're dining inside or out, which is a huge plus.

The only significant drawback, and it's one I sincerely hope they address, is the smoking. When eating outside, both customers and even staff members are smoking, which unfortunately makes the outdoor dining experience quite unpleasant. If this could be changed, it would elevate the experience even further.

Despite the smoking issue, the quality of the food and the efficiency of the service are so outstanding that I still give them a full 5 stars. Their Thai dishes are my absolute favorites, and I'll definitely keep coming...
