THE place for a scenic overview of Kolymbari! Quite a big restaurant, but due to the lack of tourists, it was almost empty.
Family operated! Seems everything is well organised. They really make you feel welcome, even thought our (very active) kids turned the place upside down.
View is spectacular from both levels. Nice outside sitting area. Downside is that the 5 star Avra Imperial is just located underneath and takes up most of the view....
We came for an afternoon break and just had ice cream, coffee and a cocktail. Ice cream bar does not look like on the (past reviews) photos from the other reviewers anymore. It's more basic - but still tasty and nicely served. Chocolate rules over banana here ;)
The Frappé with Baileys was outstanding, thick, rich, tasty, not too much alcohol, just right. Thick foam on top, that lasted even longer than we were there. Can't wait to copy that at home.
Sex on the beach was delicious too, very nice and refreshing on this bright summer day.
Sadly (due to covid) the place has obviously seen better days. But the owners still keep up their perfect service and typical greek hospitality. Love that!
Can't miss this place whenever you come to...
Read moreExcellent location on a hillside overlooking Kolymbari, great views. Right next to the Avra Imperial hotel. This place is as close to "night life" you can get in this small village, it is open late and serves an extensive list of cocktails and drinks. Food is good, although conservatively spiced. Fresh ingredients are clearly used, seafood is noteworthy, although my companion liked her pasta dish as well. Very friendly and helpful staff. Probably the classiest joint around, but the climb up the hill is not great for people with mobility issues - get a ride up maybe? The restaurant itself is accessible for anyone, it has a wheelchair ramp....
Read moreWe went there because of the rating of the place, so expectations were high. We ordered cretan salad, sea food pasta and pasta bolognese. The salad was ok. It needed a little bit of olive oil, but in the land of olives, no olive oil was to be found, on any table. Also salt, pepper, vinegar...the basics which, until now, we found even in more remote locations. Sea food pasta was good, with plenty tomato sauce, but in pasta bolognese there was no tomato sauce. Just spaghetti&mince meat. Most likely somebody forgot to add the sauce. Overall, it was the most unpleasant experience we had so...
