I love a good steak. So much that when I take my family out for a steak we want the best. Sometimes we get disappointed, other times not. At Redwood they exceeded our expectations, both in service and in food quality - thanks grill-maestro, the two waiters that served us (sorry we didnât get your names) and Alexandra, our smiling, service minded waiter for the evening. A matured ribeye at this place is well worth its money - I recommend it!! My partner chose the filet mignon and was equally satisfied - I tasted it and agree. Both were prepared medium done to preserve the taste and richness of a meat that fulfills every aspect - as you probably know: donât ever order meat well done - it will ruin most of the taste. I could literally taste the agedness of the meat like I enjoy aged Prosciutto or Serrano - so this is the real deal. Our kids got an Angus burger and a pizza with ham, both were really tasty. Platanias have a lot of good places to eat, but when you want a fine steak you go to Redwood. And in the end we enjoyed the obligatory raki with the waiter as is Greek tradition. First ânoâ goes for hygiene. The toilets had an awful smell, where I sat were hundreds of ants under my pillow and I noticed after several of them started walking on me and we were moved to another table and last by not least we found a hair in one the burgers which they offered to replace but our kids were extremely hungry so we, and take full responsibility, just removed the hair.
Second ânoâ goes for their specialty, the ribs. Any recipe one will look up even on the Internet says to score the meat as little as possible so as to preserve juices and flavor. The scoring here was up to the bone, I have never seen anything like this before, which resulted in a dry and blunt meat.
Third ânoâ goes for the overall taste which left us nothing to remember for the amount of money we spent.
We gave the service a hard time with the order and they were the only ones who actually coped in this place and did hardly any mistakes.

We were sat at the front corner and we were served by Theodore and a lovely waitress (sorry didn't get your name).
We shared a starter and it was lovely. King prawns.
We had for mains sizzling fajitas and I had ribs with King prawns. Very nice food. To accompany the food we had a nice rose wine from crete. Gorgeous wine.
