Great restaurant in the heart of Plataniás that started up in May, you absolutely HAVE TO pop in when there! Traditional Cretan cuisine, all kinds of fish & meat, lovely wines, desserts.. menu in various languages. The atmosphere is warm and wonderful with authentic Greek music. The head chef has over 20yrs of experience, has worked all over the world on cruise ships etc. Cuts all the meats himself, for example, so everything from scratch. Really, really nice stay at the West Crete. Authentic food (tried Giouvetsi, the rice was extra juicy and the lamb very nice, all around good flavour). Good and friendly staff with throwback of Greec old business - cashier at the desk :)
