A gem in the old town if you want tasty bakery treats at fair price. Located at the quitter narrow lane in old town, this place is worth the visit. The ham and cheese pie is great for breakfast, sesame cookie is great with coffee, and of course you'll have to try the spinach pie.

Diese kleine Bäckerei in mitten der Gasse von Rethymno haben wir entdeckt und mussten unbedingt was mitnehmen. Der Laden wirkt schon sehr traditionell. Die Waren werden einfach an einem offenen Fenster auf den Backblechen direkt ausgestellt (was ist ein Spuckschutz?). Der ältere Herr der dort verkauft, ist wohl mehr Bäcker als Verkäufer, denn wenn man mehr wie eine Frage zu seinen Produkten stellt wirkt er schon ein bisschen genervt. Nachdem wir das bei den Kunden vor uns mitbekommen haben, haben wir einfach aufs gerade wohl eingekauft und das war voll lecker. Die meisten Produkte sind herzahaft gefüllte Backwaren, aber auch einiges süße und Brot sind im Angebot. Die kleinen gefüllten Croissants mit einer Vanillefüllen waren ein Träumchen.

AVOID AT ALL COST ! I bought a chicken pita at this place today and I am not kidding, there were maggots inside. I dont know how Greece authority doesn't close this place down. It ruined my whole vaccation trip on Greece, I hope I don't get food poisoning. How can they serve that kind of old food and have no responsibility of food hygiene safety control. I still can not belive what happened to me today...

We happened across this place by chance one evening, and went back the next day for lunch. They bake an impressive range of pies and some sweet pastries - we had leek pie, mushroom pie and a lemon pastry - everything was great. There's no seating, so it's carry-out - but there's a square with shaded benches a couple of hundred meters to the west, and that makes for a...

I went there this morning close to 9 AM. I asked the person in shop if they had anything fresh and he said yes the pastries is fresh. So even though they looked old I got 5 pies and they are all leftovers and didn't taste good. Definitely not coming back what kind of pastry shop doesn't sell fresh products in...
