This restaurant in the heart of Rethymno has truly won us over, and we ended up coming back three times during our stay! It’s centrally located, making it easy to reach, and while the prices are affordable, the quality of the food feels anything but. Despite offering a wide variety of dishes, everything we tried was simply delicious.

The service stands out as something special here. The hosts and waiters are incredibly attentive, giving equal attention to all customers. Introverts might feel a little uneasy when the staff approaches them as they check the menu outside, but this is actually a wonderful part of the experience. They don’t pressure anyone—instead, they give you valuable insights into the restaurant’s history and help with food recommendations. If you’re unsure of what to order, I would highly recommend asking for their suggestions. It’s not just about picking a dish, but about being guided to the best flavors on the menu.

We tried several different dishes, from seafood to meat options, and each one was fantastic. The dolmadakia deserves a special mention—it’s the best we’ve had in Crete, and we’ve been coming to Crete for four years now.

The hospitality and warmth of the staff really make this place shine, and I can’t wait to return the next time we’re in Rethymno. For anyone visiting, don’t hesitate to step inside—you’ll leave with a full stomach and a happy heart.

Nestled in the heart of the city, with a breathtaking view of the harbor and the majestic lighthouse, lies a restaurant that surpasses all expectations. Upon entering, you're enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, setting the tone for the culinary delights to come.

The service here is impeccable. The staff attend to every need with attentiveness and warmth, making the entire experience stand out. A highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the multilingual waiter. Not only did he impress with his vast language skills, but his charming and entertaining demeanor also added a touch of light-heartedness to the ambiance.

Now, onto the most important part: the food. It was simply exquisite. Each dish was carefully prepared and presented, with flavors that tantalized the taste buds. A word of caution for future visitors: the portions are incredibly generous! Despite our best efforts, we couldn't venture beyond the appetizer, giving us all the more reason to return soon.

Mit diesem Restaurant haben wir leider sehr schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht. Es begann damit, dass kurz nach unserem Eintreffen ein älterer Kellner die Bestellung aufnehmen wollte. Als man sagte, dass man noch einen Moment brauche, entgegnete dieser “My friend, es gibt auch noch viele andere Gäste.“. Einige Minuten später kam ein anderer freundlicherer Kellner an den Tisch und nahm die Bestellung auf. Sehr schnell kamen dann auch die Getränke, das Essen ließ jedoch auf sich warten. Nach 50 Minuten fragten wir das erste Mal, was denn mit dem Essen sei. Der erste Kellner äußerte daraufhin: "Ich habe die Bestellung nicht aufgenommen. Mein Kollege hat einen Fehler gemacht. ICH bin der der es korrigiert, mein Kollege hat den Fehler gemacht. ICH werde es korrigieren.“ Einige Minuten später kam Kellner 1 wieder an den Tisch und versuchte, nach einem Gespräch mit unserem eigentlichen Kellner, auf inszenierte Weise unsere Bestellung zu erraten, was nicht vollständig gelang und versicherte, dass das Essen sofort kommen werde. Als Grund für die Verspätung nannte er Komplikationen mit dem Pizza-Ofen. Wieder verwies er auf seinen Kollegen, der einen "Fehler“ gemacht habe. Einige Minuten später kam unser eigentliche Kellner und brachte Brot mit Tzatziki, um die Wartezeit zu überbrücken. Kellner 1 kam erneut und nannte nun als neuen Grund für die Verspätung, dass zu wenig Küchenpersonal vorhanden sei. Nach nun insgesamt 1 Std. und 10 Minuten erhielten wir unser Essen. Kellner 1 ließ einen nun nicht mehr in Ruhe und nannte als wieder neuen Grund, dass man im Dunkeln (was es nun mittlerweile war) nicht erkennen könne, welcher Gast Essen auf dem Tisch habe. Nach dem Hinweis unsererseits, dass es durchaus passieren kann, dass man eine Bestellung mal vergisst, das aber kein Grund sei sich dermaßen unkollegial zu verhalten, mehrfach seinen Kollegen als Buhmann darzustellen und in deren Richtung zu gestikulieren und verschiedene Geschichten auszudenken, woran es nun gelegen hat, räumte Kellner 1 ein, dass dies nicht in Ordnung war.
