Read moreIt's a bloody shame that almost perfect experience was ruined by what we consider a fraud and not customer oriented behavior by staff.
The tables and equipment are top notch, some of the best I ever saw (I am, still, a recreational player). The staff have been pleasant, and upon beginning informed us that she started the timer and that 1 hour costs 6€ per person, and since I was there with my son (12 years old, no discount for kids ), this added up to 12 €, but she said that after it expires, we can play some more without worry of being precise about 60min strictly.
We finished approximately 63 minutes after, while she was out on a terrace, having a chat with other patrons, sitting at a table. We thought, as well mannered people we are, that it would be appropriate to set the balls back on the table as they were when we arrived, and this took additional 2 minutes more, summing up to 65 minutes.
Than, she entered inside again and said the time expired, and we agreed that this was it and asked to pay.
She issued the bill and asked for 16€?! I asked, how come when she told us it will be 12? She said, it's the system, a new hour began and we have to pay additional 4€.
Again, I repeated what she told us when we started, and she was strict, "no, you didn't understand well, you have to pay".
This is a clear rip-off. We were so agitated, and will never visit again, which I also recommend...
Read morePlease if you can take your time and visit support with your custom. This is an awesome billiards/pool hall, I wish there was a place as good as this here in Liverpool. Grade A equipment all maintained to a very high standard this bar is perfect for any pool/sports fan (there are multiple screens throughout showing sports). The bar itself was finished to a very high standard very impressive. Also when I came 33° weather outside so air conditioning for the bar was a dream (not all bars have this). Pricing is excellent for 2 people it's €10 an hour to hire the table here at Academy Billiards Rhodes. To compare the closest comparable bar to me in the UK is £12.95 (€15)for 1 hour.
Damianos the owner took time from his day to chat with us explained about the new screens and improvements he was making to the bar. Obviously has a real passion for his business and ensuring its providing the best experience it can. He also upon request booked a taxi for myself and wife to get back to our hotel without any issues. His other staff were very nice and accommodating of our visit. When we return to Rhodes next year we will be...
