Hippocrates Square πλατεια ιπποκρατους, Strategically located right at the entrance to Rhodes Old Town, is much more than just a square: it's the beating heart of an unforgettable experience. From the very first step, you're enveloped in a unique atmosphere, a perfect blend of millennia of history, vibrant local life, and a contagious energy that invites you to explore. The first thing that strikes you is its majestic beauty. Surrounded by historically significant buildings of great architectural merit, including the imposing Lodge of the Knights, the square is a true gem. The well-preserved medieval architecture creates a breathtaking backdrop, transporting you back in time. By day, the sunlight enhances the warm colors of the stone, while in the evening, the soft lighting and the glow from the establishments create a magical and romantic atmosphere. But Hippocrates Square isn't just beautiful to look at; it's a central hub of activity and vitality. The square is constantly bustling with a diverse flow of people: fascinated tourists, locals meeting for coffee, and street artists whose performances add a touch of color and cheer. This mix creates a unique energy, making every moment spent here a dynamic and engaging experience. The culinary and entertainment options are equally exceptional. The square and its adjacent streets are dotted with delicious restaurants, cozy cafes, and lively bars, each with its own identity. From traditional tavernas serving authentic Greek flavors to more modern venues where you can sip a refreshing cocktail, there's something for every taste. Sitting at one of the outdoor tables, perhaps enjoying a moussaka or a Greek coffee, and watching the hustle and bustle of people, is a perfect way to immerse yourself in the local atmosphere. Another aspect that makes Hippocrates Square so special is its strategic location. As the main entry point to the Old Town, it serves as a gateway to a labyrinth of charming alleys, distinctive shops, and invaluable historical sites. It's the ideal place to start any exploration of ancient Rhodes, allowing you to easily orient yourself and plan your adventures. In summary, Hippocrates Square is not just a must-see for anyone visiting Rhodes, but a true sensory experience. It's a place where history meets modernity, where tranquility blends with effervescence, and where every visitor can find their own slice of paradise. Whether you're seeking a moment of relaxation, an immersion in local culture, or simply a beautiful place to watch the world go by, this square will welcome you with open arms, leaving you with an indelible...

Was offered appetizer garlic bread and taziki as a welcome gift. Only to find out I was charged €20. I also was sold a bottle of wine. No price on the menu. Charged €40. There is no wine in almost all of Greece that is more than €25. Anywhere... I also ordered the large option of mix grill for €56 only to be billed €84. Said we had 3 people and he tricked us with an additional €28 for the 3rd person. I totally was taken advantage of. I won't come back to Rhodes. Samos and Chios are much more lovely and quaint and honest. It was our last night here out to dinner. After being here for a week. This island is congested the beaches have lots of trash in town. I cleaned up a bunch of plastic myself. There was no parking. And I got screwed on my last night. I paid over €200 for a €100 dinner. The table next to me got taken advantage of too. The word on the street is they take advantage of the cruise ship visitors. We weren't those. We are old school. Rent a home in a neighborhood. Rent a car for the week. Invest in the locals. I brought and spent thousands of euros on your island only to be burned on my last night. All done. Get your business together. I'm not coming back and I'm telling everyone I can to go elsewhere. Also was only given an itemized bill in Greek not English. Only after asking for him to explain to me what was written did he. He argued with me about it. Refused to budge. I never received a itemized receipt, English or Greek... Only credit...

Hippocrates Square is one of the most iconic and vibrant spots in Rhodes Old Town. Located at the foot of the famous Street of the Knights and near the Marine Gate, the square pulses with life day and night. With its medieval architecture, stone-paved surface, and the elegant Castellania building overlooking the fountain at its center, the square blends history with energy. Named after the legendary Greek physician Hippocrates, the square isn’t directly connected to him historically, but its timeless charm certainly evokes a classical ambiance. The medieval stone fountain at the center is a favorite meeting point and photo stop. The square is surrounded by cafés, souvenir shops, and restaurants—making it a great place to relax, refuel, and people-watch. Whether you're sipping a coffee in the morning or enjoying local meze in the evening, the square offers an unbeatable setting. Visit early for a quiet stroll or come at night when street performers and soft lighting turn it into a romantic, lively gathering place. It’s a perfect spot to start or end your walking tour of the Old Town.
