What an incredible experience! Cannot recommend Akres enough. Would be an ideal place for dinner on the last night of your holiday, as it really is very special. The attention to detail is second to none. All staff are friendly & efficient. I started with a fabulous cocktail on the lovely seating area on the street, one of the nicest drinks I’ve ever had - Kir Petillant "Sourbeti" - Cava, cinammon, rose petals. The subtle cinnamon flavour is just perfect. As is the presentation.
I was then brought upstairs to the stunning rooftop for dinner. Lovely little appetiser to start. Great white wine. I had the chicken for main - Chicken fillet "Pirgiouri" - free range chicken, pirgiouri cereal, pumpkin puree, sage sauce. This was delicious. Full of flavour.
For dessert I went for the "Fakoura" - white chocolate, fakoura citrus fruit, wild mint, orange sorbet. This was a lovely light and fresh end to the meal. Eating and drinking so well with a beautiful view of the Acropolis felt surreal. There was even a beautiful smell in the restaurant, even though it was outdoors!
Make sure to book in advance. They do online bookings which is great!
Prices were very reasonable considering the standard of the food, the setting and the faultless service. The little gift at the end was the nicest touch.
On my way out, I told the bartender how good the cocktail was. He then wrote the recipe and gave me the ingredients to recreate at home! I am still in shock over this. What a guy! Completely blown away. Thank you so much!

Read moreIt's a pity one can only give 5 stars... We stumbled upon Akres the second night of our stay in Rhodes, attracted by their signature cocktails, all made with some local ingredients and, as we discovered later, all perfectly prepared. The highlight, in my opinion, is the Cape of Krana, a redlicious concoction with a Mastic base and a red fruit leather on top, but it's in fact hard to choose one. And that's why we went back four times more... :-D Apart from the cocktail bar section, some stairs above the passers-by (on a street that is usually lit up by the fluo pink tan of the British tourists), their restaurant on the rooftop offers a fine dining experience, maybe a bit more expensive than other places in the town, but totally worth it. The difference in price is compensated by well-thought dishes, made with lots of local ingredients, cooked and presented to perfection, from the lamb to the pork, from the courgette salad to the stuffed cabbage leaves, and great desserts to end your meal on a high note. Reinterpretations of the traditions. The staff is also on another level, welcoming and competent. Thanks for some beautiful cocktail and dining experiences! We thoroughly enjoyed our visits! Bottom line: a Michelin starred restaurant that Michelin doesn't know...
Read moreWe visited AKRES for my partners birthday after getting a boat ride to Lindos and instantly deciding we needed to stay the night! We're so glad that this was the place we chose to book for food!
From the moment we arrived the staff were flawless - we were invited for a glass of fizz in the bar before being presented with a crayfish canopy en route to the upstairs terrace, which we realised was setting the bar for the evening we were about to enjoy.
The terrace, food and views are nothing short of stunning, and we enjoyed some of the best food we have ever eaten in one of the most beautiful settings you can imagine.
The tartare was to die for. I had the wagyu souvlaki, which just melted in the mouth. The mains of chicken and Iberican pork were insane, and the dessert was simply wild. Everything was spectacularly presented and well thought out.
Whilst there, we enjoyed the sunshine, sunset and nightime illuminations whilst overlooking the beautiful Acropolis.
This was genuinely one of the best dining experiences we've ever had and I'd implore anyone visiting the area to go here. We were literally hugging the staff members on the way out for giving us one of the most memorable nights we've ever had (and I imagine we'll ever have.)
A truely...
