Gelo Blu — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

They overcharge and the ice cream is overpriced (and not as tasty). Stay away. Especially if you are a tourist they charge 2€ for the water bottle even though the 500ml bottle is capped at 60 cents from the government (and I think there are fines to be applied). When I confronted the salesperson, they tried to persuade me that it’s the normal price; they told me that’s how much water costs generally and that’s what the price is on the menu. However, i told them the water bottle of 500 ml is capped for 60 cents. I proceeded to explain I was charged 60 cents indeed (unlike the “price on the catalogue”) whereas my foreign friends were charged 2 euros for each 500ml bottle. Luckily, after the personnel doubted our complaint, they ended up giving our money back (defend yourself if needed). Apparently such incidents happen because there are no common free areas around Lindos to rest, so unless you want to go to a restaurant or a cafe, you’d end up in a place like this. Keep it in mind + there are other ice cream shops around that charge 2,8€ a scoop. Here it is 4€. 🙃 also they are obligated to give receipts and they didn’t because of the overcharge. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience at this coffee bar. I bought two slices of cake to go, planning to surprise my boyfriend with a small birthday treat. Sadly, the staff member who served us packed the cake so poorly that when we opened the box, the slices were completely ruined and looked awful. In effect, this completely destroyed what was supposed to be his birthday cake, and I was honestly very upset about it.

Even before that, the experience was not pleasant. The saleswoman first tried to give us a slice of cake that had clearly been sitting out in the corner, already cut and not fresh. Only after we insisted did she cut new slices from the fresh cake.

To make things worse, she wasn’t particularly friendly or helpful throughout the whole interaction. Considering that each slice cost €7 — which is not cheap — I expected a much higher standard of service and care. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I will not...

The cone is really small for its price. The flavor is good, but a cone with two scoops is honestly tiny. Make sure to choose your second flavor wisely because they serve a decent amount of the first scoop, but the second one is barely a taste. I was left wanting more. I went the first time and thought maybe it was a mistake, but I went back a second time, and it was the same. It also seems like the ice cream melts too quickly.
