Cavo Italiano — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Amazing location. Staff very prepared and always helpful. Very good waiting time. Being able to see the chef preparing the dish is a big plus. We were a group of 9 friends and the table was perfect, we could talk to each other and the space for the plates was enough. All the plates were both visually and tastefully pleasing.

We started with two salads (whose name I forgot): one with mango and pork, the other with strawberry and cheese, I'd highly suggest try at least one of them, the mix of different tastes is very pleasing. The bread (which I think comes with any dish) has a wide variety and high quality, not a single piece of bread was the same: there were bruschetta, some grissini, a special bread with aubergine and cheese and lots more. We also took some very good fried chicken rolls served with garlic and herbs sauce, and some amazing fried aubergines. But he best starter were indeed the stuffed mushrooms: fried mushrooms filled with Philadelphia cream cheese and shrimps, simple and amazing.

As main course we all ordered pasta. All the seafood pastas were perfect (spaghetti gamberoni, risotto gamberoni, black salmon spaghetti and another one); they were simply amazing, fresh seafood and well cooked. The Porcini Stuffed pasta with Truffles, even though we are close to the sea and not in a location ideal for mushrooms, was good. The carbonara was good, even though it's not the original Italian recipe. To sum up of all the pasta, I'd recommend any of the seafood ones.

We also tried some pizzas, quite good, not the best in the island but still good.

Absolutely gorgeous little place! Would highly recommend! We were staying all inclusive at a nearby hotel but we always like to have a meal somewhere local one night so we chose the Cavo Italiano restaurant. We booked online for a Friday at 7:30pm (sun sets at 8pm in August so we got there for when the sun went down) perfect timing to see the place light up in blue and purple! The waiters and waitresses were so friendly and welcoming. We were shown to our table and given 5 minutes to look at the menu. I ordered the fried mozzarella starter and my partner ordered the chicken Alfredo rolls. Absolutely gorgeous but be warned, the portions are huge! We shared a bit of each others and I must say, the mozzarella was delicious and the chicken rolls tasted a bit like coronation style chicken. Slightly Indian style I'd say, but really tasty. For mains I had the chicken and mushroom risotto and my other half had the "butcher's" pizza. Again, massive portions so neither of us (sadly) could finish it but we stuffed ourselves to the point of feeling sick as it was so delicious we didn't want to leave any of it!! Before leaving the restaurant we both said we'd come again before flying home as the atmosphere was so lovely - modern but romantic - it was busy but not heaving, perfectly acceptable service time and food...

I’m giving a 5 star review because the staff that day and the front of house that welcomed me which I wish I knew there names to mention them because they were amazing after the trouble I had getting confirmation on my booking and the lady on the phone who hung up on me 3 times which I found was unprofessional and not acceptable for a business but I cannot take a star off the review because of one individual .

I took my girlfriend here for her 21st birthday and the staff that served us were amazing and couldn’t ask for anything more to be honest. Well done and can’t thank them enough definitely would go there again if I were to come back to Rhodes again. Seen some reviews saying food isn’t up to standards and is over priced both me and my girlfriend where full after the bread starter which was by far the best bread I’ve had in my life and the mains which looked stunning and tasted amazing and they even came out with a little cake with a candle for my girlfriends birthday which was amazing can’t fault the service for the people that served me....
