We ate there on Sunday (our first visit) and the service was a bit slow but not too bad and the food was great - we had two Greek dishes and the ribs (they were wonderful). We went back there on Friday, and it was as busy as Sunday but the service was very sporadic but we did learn from our mistake on Sunday and ordered our drinks, starter and main meals as soon as we sat down. The drinks arrived quite quickly but there was a long wait for the starter (garlic bread) but when that did arrive we tried to order another round of drinks from the girl who bought our starter. Unfortunately, there is only ONE person who can take orders for the whole of the restaurant and this girl is trying to take orders from everyone. Eventually she took our drinks order and only one drink arrived. We tried FIVE times to reorder our second drink, which eventually arrived with a second starter that was not ordered. Our food did eventually arrive and it was fine, not great but fine (T bone steak (slightly over salted for my liking) Soulvaki and a pasta bolognaise). When we got our bill, they asked if all was ok and when we mentioned the sporadic service another gentleman came over and asked what he could do, but was more interested that the food was good, we said nothing really and just mentioned again the sporadic service. All good, then the lady who takes the orders came over and offered us free coffee, which we declined. We had the money ready to pay and I had it held in my hand so they could see we were ready to pay and leave - but this again was ignored, so I went inside, where I believe I spoke to the owner, who asked again how was our meal and went through the whole thing again, and the poor girl who was run ragged was called over and a few words were said to her, but again they were more worried about the food. People want the WHOLE experience. We received no discount but were offered free coffees I don't think this was her doing at all, the restaurant is naturally split in two, why don't they have two people who can take orders on either side rather than one! The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully and is spotlessly clean, just needs the ordering system revamped and it should...
Read moreHaving walked past all week, the promise of a warm welcome and what looked to be a classy dinner seemed to be on the cards. And it all got off to a great start. The young lad laying place settings was BRILLIANT! and our order for drinks and food was very quick. If you are a vegetarian be aware that they include all fish as "vegetarian" on the menu. Fortunately there was a very talented musician entertaining the patrons as my beer arrived quickly, but the wine and water took an eternity to come... then it arrived twice?!?! I think the staff were thrown into chaos by a couple who were having a discussion with them over a bottle of wine they ordered but didn't like. The customers fault for ordering a medium not a dry bottle as they wanted. This seemed to put the place into what some sort of disarray when it came to looking after customers, as other tables had white wine delivered when they ordered red. The food arrived and was great. Highly recommend the food. Compliments to the chef! The evening ended with all around us being offered a drink of limoncello as a parting gift that seemed to be standard for the establishment, but for some reason we were overlooked this hospitality. Instead we were hasterly given the bill (which we paid) and then carried on to be ignored.
Be mindful, if you place anything on the floor near the boarders you may end up with some unwanted guests... we had a host of ants that wanted to join us.
All in all, the place has all the promise to be a great venue for an evening meal, slightly more expensive than the rest of town, but the food is good. They just need to cope better with the strange folk who complain about wine and then seem to get preferential service for the remainder of their evening, whilst all...
Read moreIt looked very great when we entered. Our waitresses English was perfect, so we asked if she is English. Turned out she was half English, half Greek. So we decided to ask for our starter (cheese balls) in Greek. It's called tirokeftedes. We got meat balls... And a lot. 7 per person. We were full after the starter, but we continued with a mix grill for two persons (they don't have it for one person). It looked good and tasted good. It was a lot as well, but no comments about the food. It took a while though (about 45 minutes). Then we sat there for an hour without anything on our table when someone decided to ask if everything was okay. Well, we are just sitting here for an hour now. So.... No. We would like the dessert menu. After 10 minutes the menu arrived and we decided to split a "strawberry dream". We waited for half an hour and then finally our ice cream (including a dying fly) arrived. So we sent it back and had to wait another 15 minutes. The ice cream was very good. When we were done we had to wait another 15 minutes for our bill. Then we got an Ouzo from the house. Too bad it was warm... Definitely not the best service. The food was okay, but the services made it absolutely...
